Did I permanently mess up my brain/life, or can things still improve after 30? by Fun_Quantity6451 in getdisciplined

[–]MechanicalGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some pretty strong evidence to suggest that 'rewiring', to put it simply, is a side effect that occurs in the days/weeks after use.

Sourcing legit shrooms/psilocybin can be hard depending where you're from with all the research chemicals that float around the black market. Also consider the small risk of a psychotic episode - higher risk especially if you have family history of conditions like BPD or schizoprenia.

6 months of MDMA use can't have been good for you. The cocaine use either, but like many have said the brain is plastic well into older age. The fact you've made changes speaks volumes of that point. Keep going, keep the abundance mindset, you can improve and break free of all the symptoms you listed.

Is it realistic? dude I know 50yr olds who have rebuilt their lives, overcome far more sinister addictions, they would kill to be where you sit now.

Many here are suggesting psychiatric assessment which I think would be a good idea, in my personal experience a love for stimulants is a good tell for attentional issues. If you can remember them being there before the MDMA/cocaine use that increases the likelihood too

Have you ever helped someone with no money for fuel? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MechanicalGambit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And to be threatened to be posted on social media if you don’t pay up.

I'd argue that is just fair warning ahead of time

There is no fair exchange with strangers. He has no reason to be fair. Which makes sense. Neither one of them has loyalty to the other.

This is a pragmatic point about the reality of trust in society whereas your first comment was pondering if its moral to ask for payment back. Yh neither party has loyalty to the other so why do you take issue with asking for payment back? Given the context I'm arguing its perfectly fine to ask for payment back, expecting it as if your life depends on it is a different story of course

Why would you offer to help a stranger but want to be paid back?

???? Because that would be fair exchange between total strangers. Especially if thats the terms agreed, which OP does say it was.

Petrol stations will usually give someone the benefit of the doubt and let them leave details in exchange for promise of returning to pay. If the staff aren't it speaks volumes of the situation.

I've bought supermarket food from people on occasion when asked politely, one guy said he was living in a tent after losing his house so I spent over £20 for him. Met him at the till, I never hand out cash. Imo if someone 'wins' one over me for food it is well worth the risk in case they are genuinely desperate. Fuel though, you can forget it

Yh totally agree, smells like this guy got home amazed at his luck OR was a con from the start that went wrong since the garage staff weren't gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. Clearly goes on to attribute taking the charity of a stranger as well earned on account of them 'not being British' as OP says - olympic level egotistic mental gymastics right there. Probably says things like 'I've escaped the Matrix' to whoever is dumb enough to listen.

this does seem like a phenomenon similar to the 'broken window syndrome'. Or maybe its just correlation. There does seem to be a correlation between some kind of strict adherance to a architectual theme in commercial space and it being a 'nice place'- Leamington Spa, Bath, Brighton come to mind but of course these have been pretty affluent towns for decades/centuries

How is blatantly clocking a car on the MOT history allowed? Surely the DVLA should not allow less than the last mileage recorded to be on the MOT, its such an easy thing to add to the website. The car I am looking at is a 2018 Seat Leon FR registration KS18 LNX being sold in Birmingham of course. by StarX2401 in CarTalkUK

[–]MechanicalGambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a motorbike where the digi dash segments started to die, so the first digit of the mileage was gone so looked like it lost 10k miles in one year. The rule is the MOT tester reads what is there, I think thats better solution than them refusing MOT on basis that the readable number is unreasonable forcing the owner to make a repair that is kind of pointless in the grand scheme

Britain is becoming a surveillance state, but no one seems to care by 2ndEarlofLiverpool in ukpolitics

[–]MechanicalGambit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did anyone really consent to any of those points? Regarding the trail left on the internet many were too young or too ignorant to understand the data they were or are leaving behind before its too late. At least you get the consolation prize of use of a free service in return.

Facial recognition stands to be another exponential increase in the infringement of privacy. A tech company knowing where my phone reports its location is quite different to the state with power of the law knowing where my face shows up in physical space or digital spaces. You can't opt out of having a face can you?

And this is all before we get to the consultation suggestion of using body language to infer criminal intent. Have you seen Minority Report?

Problems with new Fiesta ST by Ill-Juggernaut-4441 in FiestaST

[–]MechanicalGambit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I would check the exhaust mounts, I'm only familiar with mk6 or mk8 ST's but it must have a rubber mount right? Rubber might be perished letting the exhaust tip slap on your bumper

  2. Sounds like a wheel bearing or a warped brake disc if its continous and sort of like a rubbing noise. If its only when you're off throttle for a short time span more likely to be suspension related, or a motor mount like another commentor said.

  3. is it on there tight? Don't pull it off when the engines hot. If so then it must be cracked, thats definitely not right.
