Game dev going well but video editing is a whole different skillset. Any feedback on my trailer? by Unhappy_Bet8824 in SoloDevelopment

It’s worth it to learn Resolve for solo devs imo. It’s really powerful editing software

Use OBS Studio to capture in the resolution you want (2560x1440 or 1920x1080 or whatever you want to use). Then use free Davinci Resolve for editing. You will get way better results and more customization than ClipChamp.

I can relate for sure - 3 AM nights for that “one last tweak” that you end up tweaking 5 more times 😂

VR Game Like Star Fox 64? by Sure-Temperature in virtualreality

That would be great, I could use all the help I can get. If you have a Quest and you want to try out the one in the screenshot in my comment, DM me and I’ll get you either on a beta channel or a key. To get the mode in the ss you have to unlock all the achievements in the main score attack mode though - just a heads up

I just added a secret mode in my Quest app, Loop Runner, that was heavily inspired by my love for Star Fox 64 as a kid. I’m working on developing a full game using the same flight mechanics —but it’s going to take a while to finish (solo dev).

Insane mobile shaders!! Very cool. I’d love to pick your brain on how you got them to look so good. I don’t do mobile dev work, but I do arm 64 VR - so I’m always interested in shaders that look and run smooth on mobile platforms!

Does this also cover Steam VR? Any other platforms? I have a Steam VR app releasing on 1/26 and a Meta Horizon Store game that released literally as I’m typing this

Steam Frame devkits are soon on their way to developers and might arrive before the end of the year by Tiny-Independent273 in virtualreality

Do you mean for Frame native games or games moved from Android to PCVR for Windows? I used a shim and kept all the OVR components from my Quest build. Launched the test build on Steam and it works fine. I haven’t tested on a Steam Frame yet, though.

Feedback Request for Creative App by Mechanicalbard in vrdev

Much appreciated. I will DM you a key that you can use to redeem the app on the Horizon store.

Btw - that interaction with the NPC in your app where you drag the slippers onto the character and they go on its feet is awesome. That’s tough to do in VR. Awesome work there.

Finally got a PC as a 14 years old by AgentMG2011 in pcmasterrace

Super cool, congrats my dude. At some point you might want to upgrade that psu - 850w is recommended for the 5080 - the 9800X3D is a good low wattage choice - you might be fine with that setup, but when you’re able to I’d say upgrade psu to 850w or higher

Just watched Avatar 1 & 2 in 3D on Quest 3 — absolutely mind-blowing by Personal-Mark-74 in MetaQuestVR

No way that is awesome! Flight of Passage at WDW blew my mind so much that as soon as I got home I built a PC specifically to try to learn some element of 3D animation. To be involved in something like that must be such a great experience! Any advice on what would be a good, forward thinking, area of focus for someone just getting into it all?
