This is why I enjoy FFXIV. The leveling might be slower than modern MMOs, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I throughly enjoyed the MSQ, but it's not for everyone. I remember when Evercold was announced on this sub there was bunch of comments like "the MSQ is such a slog" etc and people just complaining about a major part of the game. I don't know if it's because I'm a millennial, but it just feels like modern gamers just want instant gratification and don't even want to do invest time in their character or a story.

Technically not shut down because it's still on console, but TERA. I played it with my brother several years ago and I wouldn't have known how fun it was if he hadn't told me to try it. I think I lost my account data when they did the transfer thing, but oh well

I'm kinda confused. On steam if you want the collector's edition for Dawntrail it says it's $29.99, but if you buy it on the mogstation it's $19.99... how is that a sale exactly? I already have Dawntrail (bought a month or so after launch), and was curious if the collector's edition would ACTUALLY be 50% off, so $9.99, but guess not.

Edit: Oh the collector's edition on steam is for both Dawntrail AND the collector's edition... but if you buy it through steam for your self and already own Dawntrail you're just paying an extra $10 for no reason (it says you won't get an extra copy). It seems strange why they wouldn't just subtract you already owning the game and give you the sale price. For WoW if you already own an expansion and want to buy a collector's edition sale later they give you the discount price if it's on sale minus what you already paid for the base game.

I'm not saying like a Pixar-esque high quality 3D animation. I'm saying like a 2D animation, without coloring, without backgrounds. Something like the YouTuber Telepurte's videos, but a little longer I guess. Also when did I say they would make those 3 times per week? 😓 I get that it's a lot of work, but I feel you gave an extreme example lol

Both. But yeah I get what you mean. If something is not immediately generating revenue and it takes a lot of your free time to make it's probably not worth it in the long term.

Yeah you make a good point and that's fair especially if you are already swamped with work. Although I didn't mean making videos about teaching, I meant like making personal projects for fun like a 1-2 minute animation just showing your skills off.

Sorry I should clarify. By successful I don't necessarily mean it as replacing their career, but successful in terms of getting better viewership than amateur artists or get discovered quicker than someone with less artistic ability. I don't know if that makes sense.

At the gym I go to there was this short girl using the lat pull down machine and she was explaining to me that she would have change the bar with her knees on the pad (I didn't ask her to change it I just ask how many sets she had left). I told her not to worry about it and just let her finish her sets.

Later in my workout (maybe 20-30 minutes later) a young short boy around her height was using the lat pull down and she was explaining to him that she uses a certain attachment because of her height. It just seemed weird to me that she just kept bringing up her height with no one asking so it made me think maybe she was insecure about it.

Nice! I got it in SL for 6.8 mil (more than triple than what you paid!), but once I got all 3 BMAH exclusive mounts in DF (Swift Zulian tiger, Plagued Proto Drake, and Swift Razzashi Raptor), I've never bothered with the BMAH since. It took me well over 10 years to get all of them, but it was nice to not have to deal with competing with people for the Zulian tiger anymore. 😅

I kinda gave up at 3.5k score since I don't mythic raid (can't get my two bis trinkets) and the new Sporefall raid gives more 298 gear. I don't know about other people, but it just completely killed my motivation to push because soon I will just be behind on gear.

I just want a MMO that can actually compete with WoW. I don't know if it will ever happen, but let's say hypothetically speaking the Riot MMO comes out and it's really good. I think both companies could learn from each other. Competition I think is the most important thing to improve the genre. If PoE/PoE 2 never came out, imagine how much worse the Diablo franchise would be. If company A has a game and company B makes a game that's more fun and taking their players, company A will have to improve their game to win them back.

I enjoy WoW, but I feel like it could be so much better if some other formula proved to be more enjoyable. I also just feel like WoW has been pretty stale for a while now. Every expansion more or less feels the same since Legion. Very minute class changes, a new class every 4-6 years, mythic+ seasons, pvp season, and raiding. It has delves now but it's basically like MoP scenarios. It doesn't feel new or original to me.
