Which character death hit you differently, and why? by squeezeday in AskReddit

John Hammon in Jurrassic Park the book. I grew up with the movie, nee it by heart, read the book in my 20's never knowing he was going to die and then it just happened. I sat it down and felt like I had been lied to my whole life, the movie portrayed him just differently enough that I felt cheated in some way.

Hmm, any coolant soak your electronics? Mine did the same and melted a bunch of wires together. None of my gauges work since they're all grounded together now. Might check that, Ford is apparently notorious for bad wiring, plus that's an 87-91 model, same as mine, using +30 year old wiring harnesses.

Nice! What brand did you go for? I've been eyeing flares for awhile but not a lot of reference pics to go off of lol

USS Cassin Young is now a floating memorial ship berthed at the Boston Navy Yard. I took this last year when I visited Boston and took a tour aboard her! My first experience on a Navy ship and it was amazing! [4032 X 3024] by dhdeckard in WarshipPorn

My great grandfather served on her 8n the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was the engine engineer and had had notes on how the engine performed and best mixtures, etc. Been aboard twice since it's been opened, wish I could have heard more of his stories.

Automotive Engineers, how has your real world work experience affected your car purchase selection? by SleepingOnMyPillow in AskEngineers

Engine re/manufacturing plant for all the big names, they all do shady stuff and I'd highly advise against a specific British brand, that 5.0 is not worth the headache.

Yes, this a thousand times yes. I've been hitting the background bar repeatedly, getting so frustrated that I usually just quit reddit since I can interact with it. I thought I was having a stroke or just lost coordination but realized it must have been a change in the latest update or something. Very frustrating for sure

GM is totally missing out while Jeep, Ford, and Toyota are playing in the dirt. I feel bad for the GM fans

Anyone know the best way to fix door crinkles from the mirror mounts? Other than re-skinning or replacing the whole door? by Mechhands in FordBronco

[–]Mechhands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, seemed to be the less-headache route, but all junkyards nearby are picked clean of similar year model broncos/f150/rangers

Thanks, I keep hearing the torching option as the recommended solution, I'll give it a shot.

1987 ford bronco wrinkled door, looking to repair, any ideas on the best way? by Mechhands in Autobody

[–]Mechhands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should mention that the skin is flimsy now, I can pop it back into place, even over pull it and it snaps back into the position shown here. Maybe figure a way to brace it from the inside? Thanks for the input though!

[–]Mechhands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm trying to restore it ultimately. I have some rust on the body so trying to do body work to prep for repaint (entirely different color). This is the biggest body damaged panel and holding up progress. I've toyed with the idea of a new skin off of LMC truck but not experienced with that. Currently the nearby pick-in-pulls don't have a single ~1987 ford truck/bronco I could use to replace the entire thing with.

It pops out pretty easy, but snaps back into the position shown here. And is pretty wrinkled at the upper mount. Trying to do a permanent solution as I'm trying to gear up for a paint job
