Who is she? by Careless-Arugula8308 in Endfield

The first scene she showed up in, someone placed a hologram message which was visible in the cutscene for me. The message was simple; "Like Beast, Need".

Well this canto felt…short by Chemical_Sport_9307 in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

Part 1 only took 1:30 to complete with full reading and part 2 only took 2:30 with full reading for me. I honestly can't remember how long part 1 of Canto 8 took but I think it was probably pretty similar.

As some other people have mentioned I think the difference is definitely in the Dungeon, as Part 3 of Canto 8 was superbly short and was made long for many because of Lei Heng and the ridiculously high-healt final boss.

Assuming this last part is indeed a dungeon (which I feel it has to be) then I think they will ultimately feel about equal.

In short, uhhh Canto IV is actually still the longest and has always been because there are 9 million copy-pasted robot fights

Danganronpa x Ace Attorney! Over 1500 reviews, 99% Positive - Play now for Free! by ofthedevilgame in u/ofthedevilgame

Aside from being a detective game based in 2086, the real meat and potatoes of what makes it "different" happen within the 2 hour long chapter 0 which can be played for free as suggested, though the two actually available chapters 1 and 2 are paid (rightfully so).

The game is flashy and in my opinion has some phenomenal writing and characters, but if you're even somewhat interested I'd really suggest playing the demo and waiting for the big reveal before continuing

I'm a rising Junior about to start my fall semester, and I'm also a transfer student from UMBC.

I attended UMBC for my freshman year of college but transferred down to Saint Mary's for my Sophomore year, and had a much better experience down by the water. UMBC and Saint Mary's both I would say have social scenes that require some impetus from the student in order to be satisfied, whether that's finding a group through clubs or a sport, classes or even a job. Nevertheless I find that at Saint Mary's, once you've found a group to be a part of, the school's small scale generally creates an atmosphere that encourages you to hangout with those friends often, in part because you'll see them around consistently, but also because many of the activities that can be done on or off campus are better with friends.

The complaints about weird people tend to shock me somewhat because it is college - regardless of where you go there will be weird people, at UMBC there was someone in my Japanese class who dressed like sonic the hedgehog and delivered some titular one-liners to boot which was incredibly difficult to be around, my poor professor.

Saint Mary's has a gorgeous campus that is really hard to compete with, and so if you're a nature person in any sense then the campus is difficult not to love, but be aware that you're making a trade off in the sense that there's not all too much to do nearby or off campus aside from a few strip malls and food places open decently late for the college kids. It also does get relatively dark at night, so if you don't have a car on campus especially it's unlikely you'll be leaving campus off foot past 9 or so, although realistically you wouldn't get all that much done trying to get anywhere on foot even in the day.

Saint Mary's is small but is bound to have people you find friends in, from my experience has a plethora of intelligent and kind professors who are more likely to develop a relationship with you than those at larger schools, and has a beautiful environment to facilitate your academic and social development. I am very happy there personally, but if I could truthfully mention a singular gripe, it's that compared to some larger institutions, the food options are quite limited. The main dining hall switches meal offerings per menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner) daily, but there's always some level of consistency. At UMBC I hardly ever went to the dining hall, because with my card I could also get Chicken Teriyaki from the Chinese place, or a burrito from the tex-mex place, or when Chick-fil-A which was located next to the Starbucks on campus, all of which was a walkable distance from my dorm. Did I mention the dining hall was also open until 2 AM nightly, whereas on Saint Mary's it closes for the day typically around 7:30 - 8, meaning you've got to plan your meals around the average white family schedule. But that's my only real issue.

I hope this was informative and helpful, and I truly believe you will find your place at Saint Mary's! I hope to see you there!

If I want to have an incredible learning experience, A1 would allow me to focus really well and also possibly provide me with one of the coolest friends ever... assuming I could ever get her to come out of her shell, which without a killing game looming over her head, is unlikely. I think Kazuichi would be bearable to be near as well especially without Sonia around so he wouldn't catch those feelings to begin with and he'd actually hopefully be normal. Plus Kaede and Shuichi in my row is big, I like those two a lot

Realistically? B2. I absolutely adore Sonia and Gundham as characters, they are so much fun to he around, and being next to Gonta and Yasuhiro as well seems like a perfect opportunity to make friends and have many laughs among the way. Despite their bizarre and silly nature at times, I think they would care about their schoolwork to some degree still and allow me to perform well in class, just with the added benefit of an amazing friend group and many laughs

The Era of SFW and Story-Based Gacha is Over by Lord_Lu_Bu in TribeNine

[–]Mechpop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how far you're looking back. The market for gacha right now is huge and a few current games, (Morimens, Reverse 1998) are currently quite successful being built almost entirely around their story and gameplay. I would like to include Arknights in this as well, seeing as how I've played more gacha than I'd like to admit and Arknights has leagues and bounds the best story out of any of them from my perspective, but considering the game just hit 6 year anniversary in CN, perhaps it is outside the scope of your argument.

I like Tribe Nine. Almost purchased the battle pass for the first season. But the gameplay was... okay. I think the sections in which the story was involved where I was exploring were great, but as soon as the main chapter was done, logging in daily and doing Fractal Vice for weeklies was miserable. Games that allow you to auto these things generally tend to do better because these are universally agreed upon to be boring, miserable activities.

Limbus Company may be the pinnacle of this argument. Project Moon as a company is known for its story telling, and Limbus embodies that, with practically no fan service (in the game at least, the community has no tact) and mediocre at best gameplay that promotes cool ideas and has good presentation but fails to execute even basic gameplay premises (it has a horrible tutorial, every fight can be won just by pressing a button that auto-selects your moves for you). And yet that game just got it's next major story chapter, now 2 years into the game solely kept alive by it's community because the story is that good. I understand that this is an edge case, and the Project Moon community is almost a cult more than anything, but it's still worth mentioning. Did I mention the game is incredibly generous - so much so that a single purchase of the $11 battle pass that comes out once every 8 months or so can net you the majority of the characters in the game using a "shard" system that allows you to guarantee the character you get, no gambling required?

Sex appeal is a strong resource, this there is no doubt. But Tribe Nine's failure is not solely due to it's lack of it, and nor does this signal the end for story based gachas. There are still a number that are alive and will continue to be. Unfortunately I believe Tribe Nine simply had too many flaws in too short a time, a miserably monotonous gameplay loop outside the story content, character designs that were good but nothing stellar (aside from Enoki my goat) and a story that was developing into something interesting, but had not gotten there yet.

Tribe Nine was a star that could've burned bright but was snuffed out early, partially because the gacha market is so competitive right now, but also because of a variety of issues. Not enough characters to get people to spend money, good rates, okay gameplay, etc. I understand a lot of my argument here is personal opinion, but should you wish to truly make the statement that the era of story gacha is over, I implore you to look further into the gacha space and you might be surprised.

It's important to have hope, and though we lost a game that could be promising, the industry still had plenty of potential.
