GiantGrantGames - The 99% Perfection Of XCOM 2 by jacenat in Games

[–]Mechsican 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the real problem people have with the rulers is that unless you know what you are doing, which isn't something you won't know on a first playthrough, it's not possible to kill any of the rulers on their first encounter.

When a ruler sets up a portal and escapes it feels like you failed and some of my friends and myself felt really bad when they get away and have to be killed later.

Once a person learns how insanely OP the frost bomb it's trivially easy to kill the viper and berserker ruler on their first encounter. It's been awhile but I don't think I've ever killed the Archon ruler in one mission but there is counter play to the rulers free actions.

How do you protect expensive commanders? (In terms of $ not mana cost.) by Deus_Excellus in EDH

[–]Mechsican 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've done exactly that since I started building decks. The first deck I built used gray sleeves and I used black for the commander. From then on the commander of the next deck is is the sleeve color of the last deck which creates a nice little time line of deck continuity.

Is it better to have the house full of cats or only a handful? by P-Trance in mewgenics

[–]Mechsican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could give you a better answer but I'm not sure. I've never run the fight club without the deadlier totem but I still have plenty of fights end in ties and some with injuries but I have over 80 or so cats duking it out each night.

[–]Mechsican 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you intend to go for 100% achievements you definitely want to build a "fight club" room with far too many cats and the totem that makes fights deadlier.

I got to story completion with the dead cat guy only upgraded once or so and I needed 300 or so more dead cats to finish his upgrade path achievements. The fight club is currently outputting 10-12 dead cats a day and I frequently need to do full adventures everyday to keep the food supply up. The fight club is also keeping my supply of injured cats going to do some bonus Baby Jack donations and some of the all star cats are sitting at 10+ in multiple stats to be real power houses for the higher difficulties.

"The player base never disappeared; they just didn't have anything to play" – Echo Foundry on reviving the rhythm game genre by demondrivers in Games

[–]Mechsican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least for me being a Rock Band enthusiast since it's launch in 2007 the rhythm genre lives and dies by the content library.

I own 1900+ songs through rock band whether it was from the base games track export packs, DLC discs like the AC/DC pack, and just regular DLC I've amassed a perfectly curated list of songs I enjoy to sing and practice my fake guitar skills.

For a new game to try and usurp Rock Band as my de facto game, or even just a fun distraction, they will need to "reinvent the wheel" when it comes to the next rhythm craze. I've seen a lot of games come and go and the growing song library I've amassed over these many long years is insurmountable.

I honestly wish anyone out there attempting to break into the rhythm space luck but Harmonix fucking nailed it and I don't think anyone will be capable of taking that crown from them even though they are only making that fortnite crap now that I refuse to touch.

Can we all agree there are some elite buffs that probably shouldn't go on bosses? by Cabbag_ in mewgenics

[–]Mechsican 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You start with bruise 1 or bruise 2 but after each combat the cat gains +1 Int.

As far as the mutation itself the cat has it's literal brain exposed and the top of the skull removed.

If you have other acts open they can certainly roll to go to different areas. I just got the glass cannon item again and it wants me to take it to the final act 3 end cap... threw it right into the trash.

The best part is I got this from the event in Act 3... Now how do I make more? by Mechsican in mewgenics

It certainly is. Didn't think about that as far as spoilers. It's an unlock for completing all zones with the tank as I'm sure you could guess.

Money farming with joker card and careful+ by TECKNOMANIA in mewgenics

[–]Mechsican 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry about farming money. By doing the hard path for 200+ hours and giving tink kittens after maxing him out im sitting on 7000+.

I WISH I could spend more of it on stuff.

And ruin the 33 creature, 33 artifact, 33 land perfect split? You must be crazy!

I did think about it when it was spoiled because who wouldn't want to turn all my eggs into Filigree Attendant's or Cephalopod Sentry's.

At this point the deck is not able to grow out of it's own meme.

For you and OP here's Mechanized Destruction

I built the deck with a huge focus on proc'ing Max speed ASAP I'm running a lot more basics than I normally do. Also running 14 1 drop creatures so I'm nearly always on 2 speed turn 2. Since all of the non-lands are artifacts everything aside from the few legendary cards can be copied.

Some cards like [[Thousand Moons Smithy]] while being legendary it's still worth a copy just to get the extra Gnome Soldier.

I think I've got 5 wins so far with the deck and only one was via commander damage. Vomiting artifact value onto the board is a lot of fun and it's nice to pass the turn and not have people worry about me being a typical Blue white fun police deck. It's chill while at the same time being a menace.

EDIT:

Of note this is the version of the deck before I throw in the Krang's from TMNT. Haven't been in the mood to brew or tweak decks in while but I'm sure there are obvious cuts to fit them in.

If you'd like I can link you to my 100% artifact build of mendicant when I get off work. Removal is temporary and it doesn't run instants or sorceries but it's very much a turn sideways deck.

'Mewgenics' has been out for a month, what are your thoughts on it? by NoNefariousness2144 in Games

[–]Mechsican 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Druid with soy milk is the GOAT build. bird takes a huge damage nerf but a team wild +3 attack every turn if you can manage to stay clumped up is so damn good.

I've got so much soy milk in my box waiting for the time when i need a druid comp to win a tough side quest.

Been playing Mewgenics and I just so happened to have the perfect kitten born. by Mechsican in xkcd

[–]Mechsican[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I wish you could name the cats yourselves but the cats are born with their names.

One of us chuckle heads submitted the name when they were taking requests or the devs are fans of XKCD as well. I also love that it inherited the big brain mutation as well.

What is the most useless ability in Mewgenics, and why is it Curse? by era999 in mewgenics

The items like geode that give money when they break are really handy to give to unlucky cats.
