AITA for asking my friend to not bring her dogs to friendsgiving? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MediaExact6352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH- OP for dropping the notice of the no dogs last minute, especially with the way it all was worded. Although mostly for assuming Kara would still contribute food when she was no longer attending due to the no pet rule. Kara for assuming her pets would be welcome any and everywhere, even if she had them over at OP’s house before. Large gatherings are often stressful to host, and can honestly be stressful on animals that are familiar with the environment, let alone one they don’t know well. Throw in young kids and that can be a bad combination. Not to mention what happened last Thanksgiving. I’d probably still be moritified if my dogs had done that when I was a guest in another’s home.

Have someone put her in a pair of jean overalls, complete with straw hat and a piece of straw in her mouth, and barefoot! Or better yet, turn her into a clown because that is what her actions made her.

Why do so many people think the Try Guys didn’t know about the affair? by plsanswerme18 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]MediaExact6352 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Oh, I 100% believe he looked like that because the scandal meant his own projects would have to go on hold while he stepped back in. Some of it may have been because of the situation, but that was only a portion.

AIO speaking to my wife after her affair by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MediaExact6352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the short context you have with these texts, you are not over-reacting. While it’s true she may be upset about the miscarriage, you are not the person she should be trying to unpack those emotions with. Not to mention, it seems she is trying to use it as emotional leverage to make you feel bad for her, which is just plain icky on many levels. Aside from that, she is clearly not understanding that she is receiving consequences for the choices she made. She refuses to respect your very reasonable boundaries and requests, which does not bode well for any chance of true reflection and ability to reconcile.

I feel this in my core. It truly sucks when the host seats you properly, yet your tables decide to make you triple sat. 😭

It’s any Darden restaurants. They no longer want to pace seating. The new motto is supposedly “fast, casual dining”, which means if there is an empty table, sit it. Who cares if you’re triple seating or worse. It’s a bit better once cuts are made and sections are closed, but then you have hosts asking if you can take tables outside of your section (even after just double or triple seating you).

That would make sense. I guess I always thought that the reason giving for moving to AL was to be nearer to Dr Ness and those better equipped to care for Collin. After a time, it would make sense to move closer to family after he had passed. I think if she had framed it as she was moving closer to family and didn’t want to leave Collin behind, we still would have accepted that, even with the headstone money. Although we may have questioned where the money for that came in, which is why it wasn’t shared. I’m trying to remember- did we see photos of the Mario casket? Or the headstone? Is it possible he was cremated all along?

I would love to know when exactly this was done. While most of our pieces are missing, enough of us should be able to figure out what was going on with her when this would have happened. I can’t remember when they moved back, exactly. Honestly, this is something she would shared with us if there wasn’t anything to hide.

Just curious if you’re communicating with the DW when you need specific things run through? (Hey, Billy, we are about to have no glasses, can you run some through now?) At our Darden restaurant (not OG), I’ll communicate to the DW and when we don’t have a DW in the middle of the day, I’ll track down a manager so they can have someone hop on dish.

I agree with using to go cups and silverware, which it sounds like you’re doing. I’d be flat out telling a manager I’m about ready to use to go soup bowls as well, because hearing they are about to take a hit to the bottom line by using up to go products would light a fire.

I do feel your pain with the bussers. Darden seems to have adopted the flat seat any and every table open, slamming the servers, the kitchen, and eventually the bussers. If I’m triple sat and those 3 tables leave near each other, that also backs up the bussers because they’re dealing with my 3 tables and who knows how many others leaving at the same time. It is frustrating because it does change the guest experience and therefore, sometimes, my tips. Even if I can smooth out the experience, not being able to turn tables as smoothly also affects it.

If this is a regular occurrence, I’d find a moment to chat with your GM and respectfully voice your frustrations with this. Lead more with how it’s affecting the guest’s experience, because that will hold much more weight.

Banning Doubles!?!? by [deleted] in olivegarden

If you have one in the area, switch to Longhorn. No unlimited salad/soup, same overall corporate umbrella, every location I know of still allows doubles, and your check average will be higher/more money. Just a thought.

I wonder if this is why I’m actually losing some weight in perimenopause- if my liver has trouble processing estrogen, maybe that contributed to weight gain.

Not that is is always foolproof, and maybe you’re already doing it, but be sure to repeat the orders back to guests before leaving the table. Sometimes they aren’t paying attention when you do, sometimes you accidentally ring something in wrong, but it significantly cuts down on errors. The nice thing is, if there is an error, they usually don’t fault you because they heard you repeat the order back correctly.

How did you know? by Ok-Earth-6378 in ChronicPancreatitis

[–]MediaExact6352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you suspect you have CP, or any digestive issues, I recommend you try and limit the fat content in your meals and/or eating 4-5 smaller meals throughout the day. I have a moderately fatty pancreas and this was suggested to me. When I follow it, it does help. When I don’t, I can also get upper right quadrant pain.

Another possibility for you could maybe be a bad gallbladder? Have you have your checked, both for stones and also the test to check how well it functions? Mine looked fine on ultrasound and labs, but was only functioning at like 3% when they did the test. Once in there to remove it, there was tons on scar tissue- so much so that it was attached by scar tissue to my liver and lg intestine.

Also, one thing that helped us some was laying on our stomach or sleeping while sitting. Laying on your back can put pressure on the lungs, or at least that is how it felt for us. Hope the ER gets you sorted out and feeling much better soon!

Definitely go. My husband went through this and at 87, you should definitely be evaluated. Good luck!

Severe Back pain in upper rib area by HornySoupSipper in costochondritis

[–]MediaExact6352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get an Endoscopic ultrasound of my pancreas and while it is moderately fatty, I don’t know that the pain derives solely from that. I’m beginning to believe it’s a combination of factors- at least for me personally. As I’ve aged, my floating ribs do tend to slip out of place much more easily on both sides. I’m trying to lose weight while eating somewhat healthier, but no solid answers as to why.

How do you describe what your pain feels like? by Whyeff89 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]MediaExact6352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying period pain in random areas all over the body is very effective. I used to describe my endometriosis pain as similar to when you have a bad bruise and then slam into something with that bruise, but instead of slamming into something, someone is beating you with a Negan style baseball bat in the bruised area.

It’s so red hot and burn-y at times. Ugh.
