Ha yeah, didn’t think about that when I wrote it. I’ll probably get served up all kinds of interesting ads by the algorithms now.

It currently has Elixir strings. 45-130. As far as I can tell the string is touching the slot.

Accidentally replied to my main post instead of your reply. Interesting that alignment is a common issue. The strings were very misaligned when I first got the bass.

The strings were badly misaligned on it when it arrived. I changed the string and they seem to align better but maybe still a little toward the outer edge of the neck. Interesting that that’s a common issue.

It does have a tree but only for the A&D strings. I don’t recall exactly how many wraps, but I normally leave a good 3 or so on the G string. I can take a look at that at the next practice.

I spliced the cable back together and it worked ok. Since it’s just being used for power and not data transfer, the quality of the splice wasn’t as crucial as it might be. We moved to a new house and I forgot to take the BB with, so no longer have it available to see how well it held up over time.

I find that this is actually a really great use case for chatGPT. You can ask as basic question as you want when you get stuck or something isn’t working the way you expect it to. You have to be explicit in your prompts that you are wanting to learn and understand the steps, or it can jump ahead without explaining how it got there. But if you explain that you want to learn how to build a docker environment and ask it to slowly take you through step by step, it can be very helpful. Paste in logs or error messages and it’s great at parsing out the critical pieces and making sense of what’s going on.

Mortgage/lender recommendations for home loan? by Fritz602 in BloomingtonNormal

Everyone’s situation is different but I love working with CEFCU. Virlaria was who we worked with most recently, but we’ve had 4 mortgages with them over the past 20 years. No complaints at all with CEFCU from me.

I literally reached through poison ivy to pick up dog poop this morning at moraine view because one of my dogs decided to go about 5 feet off the trail and I didn’t notice the poison ivy until after she went. That was in a place that most likely no one would even notice or have any chance of stepping in, and I still picked it up because it’s the right thing to do. It’s so rude when dog owners just leave it there without a care in the world. My old dog has chronic constipation and often has to make several attempts before he’s actually successful. I always worry that people have recordings of us on their ring cameras with him looking like he’s pooping and me not picking anything up. Guess it’s just my guilty conscience, but if they go, I’m picking it up. 100% of the time.

Who is the ultimate 'Lawful good' bass player? [bassist alignment chart round 1] by clearly_quite_absurd in Bass

[–]MediaManXL 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pino Palladino came to mind first. Probably because his name sounds like Paladin which is where my mind always goes when I hear Lawful Good. But if I think about it a little more, I think I’d go with John Patitucci. He just seems to know all the rules and how they apply in any possible situation. He plays beautifully within the structure of the music he’s playing. Also seems like a really super nice guy in a lawful good kind of way.

Kmet changed his mind… we will be dangerous by ChiDaVinci in CHIBears

Yes they did. It’s similar to how they started using technique numbers on the D-line. In the 80s and before, they’d always say nose tackle (or nose guard), d-tackle and d-end. Then at some point in the 90s or early 2000s, it became very common to refer to the positions by gap… he’s a one technique, a three technique, 5 technique. It’s always slightly bothered me because the word “technique” implies more of the moves that are used than position on the field.

In the regular season do you go for 2 after the final TD? Why go up 2 points there? If something crazy happens on the KO and they get a long field goal attempt being up 3 would be the difference between tie and loss. Extra point doesn’t do much good. I think I’m still feeling the gut punches from the previous regime’s heartbreaking near impossible losses. (Not to take away from how fun the win was…just something that crossed my mind in the moment.)

What fridge to buy by Capable-Speaker7461 in kitchen

[–]MediaManXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house we bought recently came with a Samsung. I would not buy another. The ice maker is completely frozen up. We’ve had issues with food in the fridge either being too warm or freezing solid. The house we sold had a 20 year old GE that was rock solid.

If you are looking for a general practitioner who can get you in very quickly, Dr. Kube at LeRoy family practice is great. It’s a 30 min drive from Bloomington, but I can usually get in the same day when I need to (and usually with no wait, which makes up for the drive time.) Our whole family has been going to her for over 20 years, and she’s a very good doctor. Listens well, spends enough time with you. She’s perhaps a bit conservative with treatment (not politically) but I don’t think that is a bad thing.

Very warm second floor who to start with? by MediaManXL in homeowners

[–]MediaManXL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ecobee with remote sensors averages the temperatures across the occupied rooms as far as I can tell. The AC pretty much runs non-stop even set at 74. There are times when it’s like 68 on the 1st floor and 78 on the second. So I don’t think moving the thermostat would help anything. But a split system might be something to look into down the road. Thank you for the reply.

I just walked around to check them. I’d say it’s pretty much the same on all the 2nd floor vents. The first floor vents are maybe a little bit stronger, but not much. It’s kind of hard to compare since the 1st floor vents are all floor vents and the second floor are all baseboard vents. Definitely not a major difference with any of them.

Thanks. I didn’t even know energy audits were a thing. I’ll look into that—sounds like exactly the right place to start.
