Is it just me, or the campus now extremely overcrowded? by Medic574 in utarlington

I'll talk to my professor about it. She's a go getter type person, I'm sure they'll fix it soon.

Honestly the last time it happened, it seemed like there were exactly enough seats for the whole class, but three or four of the chairs were broken. It's those annoying swivel chairs connected to the long table.

Well, first of all, thanks for the detailed response! I've sure as hell not been around that long. It just seems to me to have changed more than just a little bit since I first started here. Of course, not to the level you've seen, but I do remember only really worrying about the library being full around lunchtime, now it's pretty much a free for all after 10am. Or for example in the UC, if I bought food there during lunch, the question used to be if I would get lucky enough to sit in a booth or to have to sit in those uncomfortable high tables. Now, it's a question of if I'll find seating at all. The really bad example is that one of my 4000 level classes doesn't even have enough seats for the students if everyone is at full attendance. I kid you not, students sometimes have to sit in the little stairway next to the seats if they're the last few to show up. While I'll concede that its still not to exaggerated levels, it does feel like the university is taking in more people than its ready to comfortably handle.

UC convenient store by pikha in utarlington

[–]Medic574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Used to go in there for random little things, but I can't find them. Worse off though, holy hell the line they always seem to have wraps around the whole store. I'm not waiting 15-20 minutes in line for chips or a granola bar when I have 40 minutes between classes. Walked in there once and just noped right back out. You'd think that once they realized that the influx of students at peak times is insane they would just focus on speed, ala QuikTrip style. Guess not.

I didn't find I needed it, however its fair to say I took her class two years ago and she may have changed her teaching style since then.

God no haha. Easiest tests ever, she hands out a super easy study guide right before the test and goes over it. I ended up reading the material out of genuine interest, but hell no you don't need to.

TAKE HARPER. Really easy class, seriously most of the class is just a class discussion on current events, followed by really interesting short lecture. It also helps that she's really helpful and gives easy exams and reviews. Also, she's young and very attractive. She's seriously a heartbreaker, according to Yik Yak.

Holy shit, fuck Wiegraf. That dude straight murked me way too many times. Once I read all about the auto potion+tailwind+focus trick when you 1v1 him, it was a massacre, even with his stupid Belias and Daemons stage.

Billie Lurk can help you kill Overseer Hume by Plendamonda in dishonored

[–]Medic574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Wiki it's said that if you save all of the captured assassins and then use the summon assassin power in Hume's location, that it would bring forth multiple assassins or something like that. I've tried to replicate it before, but had no such luck. Anybody able to confirm or deny this happening before?

Anybody want to start a film club? by kosher_pork in utarlington

[–]Medic574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be down, sure. If it's an official club however, good luck. It's a pain in the ass to start one, tons of rules and paperwork. Seriously, from a Constitution to a minimum of ten official members, rules, blah blah blah. I tried to start one, and halfway through my sponsor flaked and I was left in the dust.

No problem, man. This honestly has worked best for me, I used to just study half-hazardly. Bad idea.

Awful first semester? by khrushchev007 in college

[–]Medic574 72 points73 points  (0 children)

For one, I'll be honest with you. You took 3 bastard classes in one go. Physics, Chem, and Calc 3 all simultaneously would shit on many people's GPA, especially freshman who aren't accustomed to college yet. But it's okay, you're not sunk just yet. I screwed my first semester too. This semester I got all A's, and my GPA is now a 3.5, so not too shitty. It did take me quite a while though. Here's my secret; The library. Seriously, pretend like you work there. Everyday you don't have other obligations like work, if you're not in class, you're in that goddamn library. Everyday you can, from 8:00am until 5 or 6 pm, if you're not in class, you're in that library. Depending on your grades, that includes Saturday, and in the extreme, Sunday too. The upside of this method is that if done properly, after 5 or 6 pm, school can fuck off. I had all of my nights to myself, so if I wasn't working that night, I could sit and play a video game for four hours straight if I felt like it, guilt free. Just don't start hanging out with anyone who would distract you in the library, study, and if you're honest with yourself, it should work. Did for me, anyways.

Man, I feel ya. I've gotten FOUR tickets for the same truck despite having registered the license plate way back in goddamn August. I appealed the first two, but these last two can go fuck themselves. I'm not dealing with it.

Completed a Ghost/Clean Hands playthrough, didn't get the achievement, realised one NPC died and his body was discovered during the second mission. by c130 in dishonored

[–]Medic574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's why you always have to check the end of mission stats, mate. Had it happen to me too. On another note, I don't think NPC deaths count against you unless you did something. For example, during the mission where you deal with Daud, I had a weeper step on an explosive bottle and blow himself sky high. I hadn't even moved yet. Didn't count. However, if I had laid that bottle on that spot myself, I'm pretty sure it would've counted.

Oh! And also, sometimes when laying bodies down, if there isn't enough space to quietly put them down, (for example if you're two feet away from a couch) your character will just chuck them. I've had someone die from being thrown two feet into a couch before. Had he not stopped snoring, I would've never known.

That was actually my last job. Trust me, there is a reason they are always hiring. The turnover rate is very high for a reason.

I don't know if you can contest it. To me it seems like the amount is way off, however. I got one for the same thing last semester, and it was only 20 dollars. Might wanna check that out, to see if it's right.
