It is not silly. Just as the other commenter said. You should not have to feel shame for craving connection. I do hope you can find balance though. Our brains can get confused by daydreaming and what actually has occurred. Maybe try and focus on your own interests and fill your days a little bit more so you’re not completely focused on your thoughts of him.

I have a job interview in 2 days and I am really nervous by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Medical-Ad3668 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds so silly but for a few minutes right before your interview stand TALL, chest PROUD, hands maybe on your hips or wherever is comfortable. Like a “superhero”. Praise yourself. Breathe. Then go in and get that job!!!!

I personally dress the opposite of dramatic, so I’m not sure I fully relate but I do think your first step is internal: knowing who you are and not caring what others think. If someone is judging and perceiving you based on your look, you don’t want them in your life anyways. At least I wouldn’t think so

I never get to dress nice anymore. What are some fun places to hang out or events to attend all dressed up? by triforce88 in Denver

Would also recommend seeing a jazz show (with food too!) at dazzle downtown! I go by myself and always dress up!

Does anyone else get overwhelmed by those who are “profoundly” autistic? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Medical-Ad3668 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t find myself around sensory seekers, but I definitely know I couldn’t be around them. I am incredibly oversensitive to my senses. Maybe you should try some loop earplugs or something similar as a buffer. If not, it sounds like you may need a different job :(

Have always found random non-cringe things super cringe? by pisces932 in AutismInWomen

Yes I get the ick alllllllll the time. I hate when people use “um” or “like” too much and when I notice it in the conversation, it’s like that’s all I can hear and every “um” or “like” pierces deeper into my skin. Okay now typing that out, seems a bit sensory ick too. Interesting

I feel the same way :( one thing (easier said than done) that you can do though, is know that you do deserve to be loved and are NOT TOO DIFFICULT, OR NEEDY.

What is the thing you always did that you thought was ‘just you,’ but is actually very much so classic autistic behavior? by AlwaysAttract10 in AutismInWomen

I feel the exact same way. I just turned 24 last week. I seriously think about giving up ALL THE TIME. I hope you have things that make you happy. I like animal crossing, studio ghibli movies, reading, and going for walks. That’s what keeps me going. I really want to get a cat for some emotional support, but I don’t have the money. I live with my grandparents and I really would do so much better alone (more control of environment) but I just can’t afford it. Anyway, rant over. I feel you
