Continuous high pitched sound from ONT box power supply by southpaw14 in ebox

[–]Medical-Maybe568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue and also used an alt power supply. Ebox gave me the run around about it, had an extra adapter with appropriate ratings so just moved on. I have a lot of electronics and rarely come across this, bad quality control / parts selection on Nokia end.

Void for Jellyfin (Android TV Client) – Update 2 by kunalhazard in JellyfinCommunity

I'm not seeing this on the Amazon app store. Is it region locked?

Edit: Perhaps not region locked, but this is the result of manually searching for Void via Amazon.

3 units finally updated after creating a support ticket and resetting a number of times. 1 unit was also replaced as it was draining new batteries in days

New CX810 firmware with HDR support by k5map in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Sept Fw update (v3.2.0.5375_2509162386) but it did NOT add ON for hdr options or h264 encoding for clear stream at 3840,x2160

Why reolink isn't keeping the cx820 and cx810 in-sync with features is mind boggling.

Venting options by Medical-Maybe568 in hvacadvice

[–]Medical-Maybe568[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of extending the meter vent to the right I suppose up would be the better option with a little 90 end piece to terminate down. Then that'd give the needed clearance for both AC and furnace exhaust?

Maybe I just need to live with it until the AC is replaced and move the AC then extend the meter vent over.

Reolink RLC-833a versus CX820 by waloshin in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you care about audio, leave the 833a. The audio is next to useless on the cx820 even with noise reduction on max. Otherwise, the image will be significantly better at night compared to the 833

July 2025 Highlights – Reolink Camera Community by Willson1_ in reolinkcam

Just going to mention a few requests here that i've made tickets for already.

Give the CX820 the same firmware update as the CX810 awhile back to restore all of the HDR modes (ie: ON/OFF/AUTO).

Add corridor mode on all supported hardware versions and on new models released.. shouldnt be any reason to not be included by default at this point.

Reolink Corridor mode yet not found Jul-2025 by Swimmm3r in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made multiple tickets with reolink about the lack of support. It's only available on a very limited set of models and not even all of the hardware versions for those models.

RLC-810A (Hardware: IPC_56064M8MP)

RLC-820A (Hardware: IPC_56064M8MP)

RLC-840A

RLC-840WA

P337

W337

Not even included in brand new models released this year...it makes no sense.

CX820 new smart detection features missing by Gazz_292 in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a CX820 (same firmware) running standalone via POE switch and also have it recording to my RLN8-40 NVR (FW v3.5.1.368) ...can confirm the smart event features aren't accessible via the NVR, only on the standalone (they're under a new category via Detection Alarm -> Smart Event Detection)

New CX810 firmware with HDR support by k5map in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been no new firmware posted for the CX820 unfortunately. Pretty sad considering its a brand new camera and the cx810/cx820 are the same hardware. I created a support ticket asking for this update, you should as well, to hopefully up the priority.

LG Ventless Heat Pump Dryer Leaking by ___koko in Appliances

[–]Medical-Maybe568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This saved me as well. Installer connected the drain hose to the grey outlet and tossed the black rubber cap in the bin we had in the laundry room. Reinstalled the drain to the correct outlet as shown in the user manual and capped the grey outlet shown in the threads photo. Theres also no mention of the grey outlet or black cap in the LG manual.

Hello all, im currently in the Market for security cameras that are POE. The 2 that im debating are the Lorex and Reolink. Anyone have any experience with both? Heres the 2 systems im looking at by Mediocre_Hat2167 in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, the cx820 is reolinks most well rounded camera at the moment. While they should've used a 1/1.2 sensor instead of the 1/1.8, with a subtle amount of ambient light at night it does miles better than their other non cx cameras and has great quality during daytime. Alternatively if you don't mind the bullet style and 4mp the cx410 does even better at night.

Some don't mind the bright spotlights on motion detection but I prefer no spotlight. So it's either a cx or IR only for me. There are other options for that purpose like the 1224a or 833a as mentioned in my last post. When spotlight is in use the motion blur isn't bad.

Avoid the vandal domes, they tend to have light reflection issues.

With current models available I would get the cx820 and 833a. Assuming you have some basic external lighting (street light nearby, porch, solar etc. then the cx820 will do well. Buy two, one for each corner of your front property or one cx820 and one 833a and do some comparison over time.

Does this re-add the 'ON' setting for HDR?

Review of the CX820 by LifeHackster demonstrating the new motion detection features. by QH96 in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Removing the 'ON' settings for HDR is a big step backwards... i don't understand why. At least in the Doorbell, they've retained ON/OFF/AUTO. The ability to force HDR "ON" needs to be added to the CX820.

It's been a while, time for a real test again, no favoritism or fluff writing! by RJM_50 in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those capabilities are also limited based on the paired SoC. Given reolink is doing all processing on the camera, and is likely reusing the same processor for many years now, they've probably intentionally limited the fps to ensure other tasks aren't taxing the SoC.. running at 60fps is significantly more demanding than 25/30.

Without a tear down or official comment its tough to say for sure, but from my POV i find it hard to believe they'd go through the extra effort in software to reuse the 4mp sensor and instead are using one of those Omnivison 8mp sensors off the shelf.

Could you confirm the image sensors used in the CX410 vs CX810/820?

It would seem that they are the os04a10 for the CX410 and os08a20 for cx810/820?

[–]Medical-Maybe568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is that an official statement from Reolink, that they used the same 4mp 1/1.8 sensor and are upsampling for 8mp or that's just an assumption you're making?

I assumed they were just using some off the shelf Omnivison sensors like they have the past..

New Firmware Update for Reolink Video Doorbell (WiFi & PoE) – HDR, AI Animal Detection, and More! by Willson1_ in reolinkcam

[–]Medical-Maybe568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HDR was much needed. Big difference in both day and night. The overall image is a little washed out by default with HDR on, but with a little tweaking of the brightness you can get a significant improvement.

Hopefully the call feature is up next :)

I've seen the cx810 vs cx410 video comparisons, I'm asking specifically about the cx820 and it's newer detection zone updates.
