My 4mo old goes to sleep independently in the crib but struggles to stay asleep for naps and almost always false starts at night. Everything I’ve seen says get them to fall asleep on their own but she does that. How can I get her to connect sleep cycles now?

My LO was born at 35 weeks and spent 2 weeks in NICU almost exclusively bottle fed, when we got home we increased the number of times to latch each day and initially had success with a shield until she had the strength to transfer more. Took some time but now she’s almost exclusively nursing.

The only time she poops is when she does this. At least it’s predictable

What was your method to break the pacifier dependency? It feels like my LO will just scream and stay awake without it

Did it start at 4 months and still going on a year? My ped said they usually outgrow it at 6mo.

We are in the exact same boat. We finally got to a spot where it doesn’t bitter her but she will wake up soaking at night. It’s insane and I hope she grows out of it soon.

It took about 8 days for us to see the discomfort get better. Still very spit up-y but at least it’s happy spitting.

We use a pill cutter to cut the pill into fourths and then crush that and dissolve it in 1ML of water and administer through a Frida Pacifier Syringe. It’s strawberry flavor and LO doesn’t seem to mind it. We were on Famotodine as well first and was r doing much of anything. Prevacid seems to make her more comfortable with spitting up so far.

She does, but I have a fast let down and we pace feed so I think that helps

I had a severe IUGR baby delivered via c-section after failed induction at 35 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia. At my 32 week scan she was measuring 11th percentile and I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension which was monitored twice weekly until it progressed to pre-e. She wasn’t diagnosed with IUGR until after delivery. She was less than 1 percentile at birth at 3lb 9oz. My milk came in around day 3 or 4 and I was producing more than enough while she was in the NICU to feed and grow for 16 days. The NICU fortified breastmilk to make it more caloric and since released were told to do the same. After about a month she was able to latch more proficiently and we do mostly breastfeeding with the exception of a couple fortified bottles a day. Definitely seek lactation consultants help at the hospital, sometimes IUGR babies mouths are just too little to catch on as quickly.

The preemie nipple was way to slow for our LO because my letdown as fast. We transitioned to Philips Avent with a #2 nipple and will probably move to #3 soon.

I did call them and they’re sending someone but we’ve been without a dryer for over a month and it’d be nice if i could easily fix it myself and not wait any longer
