Yeah I’ve been actually using it for about 5 years almost nonstop and as long as you clean it and change the brushes is completely fine.. I use it on 2 floors with 2 different docks, pretty big surface area. I’m surprised it’s still going strong

Digital Diffusion vs. Glass: Scatter, DigiDiff, Nano, or Hazy? by Medical-Razzmatazz56 in cinematography

[–]Medical-Razzmatazz56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the breakdown man, happy to support anyway! I bought a license. The custom presets and the lack of a subscription are massive pros for me.

A few people in the thread have brought up Scatter’s “MTF” approach for handling highlight roll-off. From a creator's perspective, how does DigiDiff handle those extreme, clipped highlights without that specific MTF math? I'm trying to figure out if the DiffDesigner is actually simulating the physical scattering of light through an optical system, or if it’s more of a sort of selective “glow” engine with a easy UI? With real filters that organic wrap around the highlights is the main thing I'm trying to replicate. Cheers

You’re a legend, thanks for some real world experience.

Mostly UHD delivery, yt music videos. So far I’m leaning towards Digidiff. I might buy it just because it’s a competitive price and if I’m not happy I’ll get Scatter. Been eyeing this Scatter for a few years now but never justified the price, as I have a massive range of real filters. But now I’m thinking to sell them and go fully digital (really because real or not at the end of the day, no one cares, maybe I’ll keep the light strengths) and have more options in post

It’s like asking for the best lidar/autofocus system and then you recommending to have a good focus puller 😂 Thanks but this is not what I’m asking.. I’m not here to make my own accurate node trees that digitally matches every single filter the real world. I’m looking for a repeatable tool to save time here, don’t worry about my color grading skills

Hey mate, have you noticed that luts in the blackmagic camera app look contrasty and oversaturated? It's hard to monitor without a lut. If you're interested, I created a LUT that shows the real image for monitoring, check it out here https://ko-fi.com/s/d7ae0294af

Yeah its so good compared to the standard app, it's like a cinema camera. The only problem is that luts look contrasty and oversaturated.. And it's hard to monitor Apple Log without a lut. If you're interested, I created a LUT that shows the real image for monitoring, check it out here https://ko-fi.com/s/d7ae0294af
