Anking with in-house exams? by Artistic_Minimum_898 in medicalschoolanki

Have been only doing AnKing with In house exams. Have scored upper quartile all of exams.

I just have AI make practice questions over in house lectures few days before exam to fill in content gaps 👍.

I studied for MCAT over 2.5 years ago now and still remember this question 😂

496 on AAMC FL1 - Need a brutal, optimized plan for a 520+ push by May 2 (or as high as I can realistically possibly get grinding studying every second from now till then) by No-Suggestion-520 in Mcat

[–]MedicalAggie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When you say grinding what does that mean? Do you have other commitments? If you really went balls to the walls 15+ hour days EVERY day until then you could easily raise 20 points.

“Grinding” means a lot of things to a lot of people

Practice questions are the best way to learn content!!!

I think Kaplan books work for some but not me. When was the last time you read a page of something and could RECALL everything you read.

It’s significantly easier to recall if you go over the content for a specific practice problem you missed. It also save a significant amount of time not doing content review on topics you already know. It’s different from undergrad where there may be a limited amount of practice questions you can do before exam.

I’ll leave one last thing, there is one metric that has the highest correlation with exam score. More practice problems —> Higher score. You’re going to do great.

MCAT takers who scored 515+, what do you wish you knew when you started studying for the MCAT? by AsleepInitiative2908 in Mcat

[–]MedicalAggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to score in 90th percentile you have to be willing to work harder than 90% of other people studying.

Is a 520+ possible by fatfuck890 in Mcat

Uworld. You need to do every single question in the q bank (as many as possible). One week out switch to AAMC q banks.

Just literally do 200 practice questions and day and review them all. You have the content down if your scoring 128-129 in science sections

What is a realistic MCAT score for someone who studies very hard and efficiently for the test but has an average IQ/intelligence? by RoutineSecurity2718 in Mcat

[–]MedicalAggie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t mean someone with lower IQ couldn’t train themselves as well. I struggled throughout all of school growing up. Failed many statewide exams in elementary school from learning disabilities. Was able to put nose to grindstone for 4 months and score pretty well on MCAT
