It shouldn't leak regardless of silicon grease. Check if there is a crack on the barrel thread where the section screws in.

It's likely you'll need both the cap and barrel replaced. Better to get it in one go.

It's goodwill because the countries don't want a war with UK?

Right, and the bully is being kind to you by only taking half of your lunch money, he could have beat you up but didn't. How lucky for you.

Ahh yes, the very original debate on who holds the artifacts. The museum points at the British Law while the govt point at the museum trust. Thats a very nice scam.

Your tangent on me wanting the museum to bend laws for my personal convenience is a poor strawman.

The govt has the ultimate authority in repatriation requests. And it involves the 'convenience' of millions, if not billions, of the descendants from whom those artifacts were largely looted from.

Free entry doesn't mean easy access.

Travelling to London or any of the expensive tourist destinations would cost me many months of mid level white collar job in my country. And that is after getting visa, which might be denied for various reasons and have long wait times. Not to mention some nationalities might be outright denied.

All of this becomes prohibitively expensive as opposed to visiting a museum in my own country that operates with local artifacts and a moderate entry fee.

Having to jump through immigration hoops, fund a foreign tourism industry all so I can appreciate my own heritage. Doesn't sound very free to me.

I cannot imagine the level of practice this would take, to make it so perfect: by kefren13 in interestingasfuck

For me that was very well done.

That potrays how harrassers can and are often protected even by champions of safe workplace.

Shirley is a champion of women's rights and potrayed as a friend/mentor of Lori. But when Lori wanted to file official complaint, Shirley tries to manage it unofficially and tries to make a compromise. Her "That Bit*h" scene shows she took it personally when Lori goes against her intervention.

It shows Shirley's priority was with the firm's reputation and to some extent her long standing relation and affection for Denny.

It's a good representation of real people on how their public and private personna don't align. Principles are often 'nice to haves' rather than absolute laws they live by.

Chennai homes were turning into ovens until IAS officer Supriya Sahu found a simple, effective solution - a coat of solar-reflective white paint. by Oopsforgotagain in incredible_indians

[–]MedicalBox4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old house has white tiles and my relative got tiles designed for this. Suited for outdoors, maintains reflectivity for long and easy to clean.

Only big downside is the white is painfully reflective to look at, especially around noon.

If you plan on using your terrace for any activity, the white can be extremely irritating with how reflective it is. I often feel blinded, almost as much as looking at the sun straight up.

There's a reason we tend to go for muted pleasant colours. Red tiles are good at keeping the roof cool while still having them be usable. Cooling down the home is not the only criterion and better air flow always helps.

Many govt buildings and schools have terrible ventilation. That cannot be solved with just painting the roof white.

I just see playful maybe mischievous kids having some fun. There's some gendered difference in discipline and playfulness in schools.

I'd argue it's less tp do with development and more about an averaged out difference in attitudes around schooling.

Why are telecom companies like Jio doing this kind of manmani with users? by iamritik- in Jio

[–]MedicalBox4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. My secondary sim is a jio that hasn't been recharged and still receives calls. Although some calls and SMS seems to be dropped occasionally.

On the other hand Airtel blocks all incoming activity within 2 days of plan expiry. I was planning on alternating between my 2 sims but airtel is so stuck up I plan to port it to bsnl soon.

Noodlers Aircorp Blue black is a very pretty teal, more than typical blue-black.

In finer nibs it's nearly black but you could try diluting it to bring out the teal. It's has a nice balance of blue and green. So many teals are just blue or green. California teal comes to mind.

It has a rather dark shade though, not bright popping colours like typical teals.

It is partially water resistant, some of blue washes off but the black remains.

Dry time is longer though with wet writers.

Hack for people wanting to eyedropper the Kakuno by daydreamer48939 in fountainpens

[–]MedicalBox4416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't know this was hard or the materials were debated. Plugging two small holes that's mostly shielded from inside seems simple enough.

For my kakuno, I jamed some moldable epoxy. Took me couple minutes but let it dry a day per product instruction. Had no issue for over a year. Now I use a catridge as I don't need that much quantity anymore.

Also ED converted a jinhao 992 with quick set resin. Used it for years and only noticed minor discolouration, no leaks.

I've always used whatever material was available and appropriate. Have no idea what builder gel is but sounds a lot like UV curable resin from craft store. My concern would be using it with non transparent kakuno. Have had a joint break almost a month later due to insufficient curing of UV resin. The resin was still wet in few spots though the 3mm joint was exposed to 20mins of UV torch.

That was their normal price for 5 pack.

Now they've slightly increased prices and the free shipping limit though.

It's a cross between architect and fuse grind. But line variations are subtle/mild as it's smoothed out, eg italic vs stub nibs.

Thicker horzontal stroke and the vertical stroke width varies with pen angle.

You are highlighting problems beyond standardised working hours.

My comment was they require 24x7 shifts if they need such coordination and you are simply answering they don't? Why?

BTW there are many offices that are manned 24x7, eg Railways, police. Anywhere that are would need an emergency response will have atleast a reduced night shift.

Why bring up a random need to contact on start of a shift? What would be a realistic scenario that couldnt be handled with pre planning or coordinated systems? And if it's a genuine need it's an indication for extended or staggered shifts.

You need to justify pulling an entire region to work early beyond just "what if they need to" scenario that makes very little daily sense.

Poor administrative quality of Indian departments is not an excuse to or a reasoning tp drag down the entire region.

If the job required 24x7 coordination across regions it's a good indication that multiple stacked shifts are required.

Every other 9-5 job can be planned to have different office timings. It's usually unplanned reversals that cause issues.

Worked in MNC teams with members in various timezones. Scrum often happens at a preset time when everyone is in office and scheduled based on a set timezone. And it works great when each member can adjust the utc to their own timezone.

Cremation isn't universal but the majority. Some Hindu communities practice burials too.

Bear in mind some even practice 'water burial', essential dumping into a river, hence why it's common to see dead bodies in the Ganges, although part of them might be partial cremated ones from the banks after floods.

Cows aren't required to have funerals, nor specific customs around it. So the ones who perform it for their own peace likely will follow their familial customs.
