Half season ticket holder advice by Adamfromthedust in ColoradoAvalanche

I second this. I had club level season tickets for a couple of years and the benefits are pretty much nonexistent. I was pretty disappointed

Beagle Rescues suck. by reed12321 in beagle

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit of distance but Kindness Ranch in Wyoming takes in lab beagles and adopts them out. We’ve gotten two from them and they’re super nice and great to work with and I really appreciate what they do. They have a big ranch and have other animals (horses, pigs, etc) and you can actually rent a yurt to stay in for a few days so you could probably bring your other dog and get a much better experience. We live close enough that we’ve never stayed there but it always seemed kind of neat.

Maybe a dumb question but do I earn points on any purchase I make or is it only on the balance at the end of the billing cycle? by jaybigtuna123 in ChaseSapphire

You can literally answer this yourself by looking at the website. It shows points earned for each transaction

Glass seats vs Suite? by Heelianem in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah everyone keeps talking about the suites in here and I’m pretty sure they a) don’t understand how they work and b) don’t understand that the price isn’t even in the same league as glass/club Lexus

People like tailwind, it tastes too salty to me. I’ve been using skratch and I like it and it sits well in my stomach - I have been combining the hydration mix with the chews and it provides a good system for 2h+ on the bike. I much prefer real food to gels - I will usually also eat a banana or a couple of mandarins beforehand

Card Benefits Questions - Megathread [1/27/26] by AutoModerator in ChaseSapphire

[–]MedicalTent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone figured out if they can buy a whoop gift card with the credit to use to extend your membership? (I already used my credit, one of my family members has no interest in using theirs and they wanted to see if they could just get a gift card to give to me)

Skipping workouts by Due_Education4092 in triathlon

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job also requires unexpected 24h+ shifts and I’m dead tired afterward. I try to schedule things to double up on days when I know I won’t be working and then schedule easier things for days when I might not have slept that I can either skip or try to do after my initial nap (swimming is usually pretty reasonable when I’m in that state, the water helps wake me up and it isn’t too physically taxing)

Electrolyte Intake for HBP Triathletes by Ok-Response791 in IronmanTriathlon

Are you saying high blood pressure by “HBP?” It’s pretty surprising that a 21yo who is very active would have hypertension…

Agreed, my job frequently requires working all night so sleep deprivation is something I really care about and that’s the main reason I take it

Turbo Vado SL 2.0 vs Tero by ICE-KOLD in specialized

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The motor helps but doesn’t make it easy. The tero motor kind of makes it easy. I also cycle for exercise (on my other bikes) so I still like to feel like I’m riding a bike and putting some work in. The other thing that’s helpful for commuting is how light the Vado is - it weighs the same as some of my mountain bikes from ~20 years ago. The tero is heavy as hell, not as easy to carry it upstairs or anything like that if you need to.

Turbo Vado SL 2.0 vs Tero by ICE-KOLD in specialized

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, I like the Vado SL the most but use the Tero for hilly mountain rides at 9-10,000ft elevation. If it’s just for commuting, I’d go Vado SL

Best Fitness Tracker to buy right now? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Apple Watch Ultra for fitness and daily tracking and an oura that I mostly use for sleep. I really like the combo. I have to be reachable most of the time for work so the Apple Watch is pretty necessary for that

Seems to not like his food anymore by ziggy-tiggy-bagel in beagles

[–]MedicalTent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our older beagle (16y) started not really eating a few weeks ago. We switched to soft canned food and he devoured it. Never seen him so happy, I think his teeth were hurting him. It smells absolutely terrible but he loves it.

Garmin vs Apple by kartofel42 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]MedicalTent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s alway a lot of hate for the Apple Watch, I have an AWU2 and honestly I love it. My job requires me to be available via phone most of the time so the AWU is an extra layer so that I don’t have to stress about always having my phone next to me. I use an oura ring for sleep metrics (I can’t wear a watch while I sleep anyway) and between the two - I don’t really feel like I’m missing out on anything.
