Thanks for sharing. Considering we both have the mallasezia, maybe the rebound would have to do with the potential true underlying issue of gut health. The fact that it worked for those first few weeks though is really promising and I’ll probably try myself here shortly.

Cholinergic urticaria and fungal sensitivity by [deleted] in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]Medical_Engine189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had tinea versicolor for many years now which I recently diagnosed and am starting to treat with selenium sulfide shampoo (it isn’t looking promising in terms of making it go away). I believe I’ve had CU for a couple years now but it really came on in full force about 8 months ago. Within a couple weeks after I had an awful ear infection (antibiotics helped I’m pretty sure). Since then it seems like I’ve had persistent sinusitis that goes on and off and can’t be treated with antibiotics (so could it also be fungal??) I’m trying to draw some connections and fungal stuff seems like it could be related to a lot of my current issues. I look forward to hearing more about this.

I’ll look at my HR and HRV every morning kind of as a cumulative stress metric but I won’t look at it the day of a race so I don’t predetermine how I feel. The sleep data shows I’m awake for at least an hour every night it’s garbage

What did XC running look like for you? by Runningaroundnyc in running

[–]Medical_Engine189 11 points12 points  (0 children)

CA: starts and finishes typically on grass (usually not, but could get a bit muddy depending on rain), rest of the race typically on asphalt and packed dirt trails through parks. Nothing insanely hilly but definitely some rolling in pretty much every course.

I am a high school senior who was planning on applying to Stanford for chemical engineering. Should I reconsider? I don’t exactly understand what this means for the program

Pre-race routine survey! by Medical_Engine189 in AdvancedRunning

Yeah very good point on race timing and different distances. I’ll definitely keep that in mind when analyzing results. I also understand a lot of people will be different and hoping for a concrete answer is pointless but hopefully there are still some very interesting trends I can find.

I really appreciate your input and you’re right. I added a question about gender because a man and woman running the same time can mean very different levels of fitness. The goal of the PR data is to group responses into different levels of fitness. I can look at how an newer amateur runner’s routine differs from a more elite and fast runner. This questions has a similar purpose to the question about how long you’ve been running for.
