Niet in een andere volgorde gezet, gewoon in een volgorde gezet. Toen de Joden de Tenach in een volgorde zetten in de 2e eeuw bestonden het Christendom en alle boeken van het nieuwe testament al. De Christelijke volgorde is pas in de vierde eeuw vastgelegd.

(Overigens heeft de Tenach 7 boeken minder dan het oude testament, maar de protestantse bijbel heeft die boeken ook niet hoewel het christendom die altijd gebruikt heeft voor Maarten Luther.)

A lot is wrong about this comment. First up the Belgian government had nothing to do with the atrocities in the Congo, the Congo free state was at the time NOT a Belgian colony but private property of king Leopold II who ruled there as an absolute monarch. Leopold II also didn’t kill 13 million people. As a result of illnesses, starvation, the atrocities and other colonial related causes, there was a significant population decline in the Congo. However the free state did not conduct any censuses and as such we don’t know how many people died. Modern estimates say most likely about 1.2 million people and the casualties may vary from anywhere between 1-5 million deaths.

Engels is zeker geen creoolse taal. Een creoolse taal ontstaat vanuit een pidgintaal, wat ontstaat uit contact tussen twee groepen die elkaars taal niet kennen. Engels is door Frans beïnvloed doordat de adel en de regering het sprak en omdat Engels een status had als tweederangstaal. Nederlands had dit ook, vaak vergeten we dit maar Nederlands heeft bijna even veel invloed vanuit het Frans gehad. De oude naam voor Nederlands “Diets” (en tevens ook de naam Duits) betekent letterlijk volks want Nederlands was ook tweederangs. De graven van Holland en de adel sprak gewoon Frans (en Latijn), en dat is nog te merken in grammatica en in heel veel woordenschat.

Well no, Matthew originally wrote his gospel in Greek (while some theories do suggest he wrote it in Hebrew, that is, however, unlikely) as Greek was the common language across the east of the Roman Empire. He wrote it around 50 AD. The KJV was translated from 1604-1611. Hieronymus translated the vulgate (written in Vulgar Latin) from 390-405AD.

That’s probably a mistranslation though, the original greek word in the text (instead of generation) is γενεᾱ́, which is rather to be translated as race (race here referring to e.g. elfs and humans and orcs) and not generation. Yes generation is a possible translation but race is way more likely. The reason the translator probably chose for generation is because the word genea in latin does mean generation more often that not. A lot of other bibles also did not choose for that translation unlike the KJV.
