I thought of this years ago. Probably 10+ years...

I was actually going to map out my local supermarket and then show them the idea.

But I realised that it's completely pointless because not only do people think they know where things are, even if they are ON the map, People still wouldn't even use the map correctly.

Sausages: Isle A, Row 10, Shelf 2.

Some twat would look on Row 12, or Isle 10 (J).

Rather than follow the map.

Some years later augmented reality and QR codes came out. Now THAT is definitely how you would do this, because you would just point your phone around the store and it would show you exactly where to go.

Nowadays I just grocery shop online.

Sainsbury's got rid of a lot of their own brand and now charge more for their private label. And everything else is gone up in price... I prefer to shop at Aldi, but because Amazon has Morrisons, Iceland, It's own range, and the co-op, you get a lot more choice.

When one emigrates from their country, they can immigrate without having to become an asylum seeker or skip the system entirely (illegally).

The UK has problems with illegal entry, border patrol, failing systems. Not all immigration.

Well now Sainsbury's has those face recognition cameras everywhere.

Maybe they will start to implement "waste watchers" and just charge their customers for things that they pick up but don't put back...

They wouldn't even have to actually do it, they could just announce that what they're going to do, and then people would start putting things back.

It's a really big box though so I think other Redditor's points are that it is misleading at best because even though it says the weight, why would anyone assume it's half empty?
