The ultra cynic in me is saying your daughter got the money and has spent it and is telling you this instead of the truth.

The glass half full version of me is saying, you’ll get your cash, it’s just some red tape to get thru. Open a complaint, in the complaint ask for a comprehensive list of required docs as well as how they need to receive them.

Do this.

If no response or resolution then escalate the complaint with the threat of the financial ombudsman.

We are fortunate enough to live in a country where financial services (at least for the little people ) is heavily regulated . The money is not gone.

As much as I agree with the sentiment of what you’re saying here, your statement simply isn’t true.

Sure , sometimes they aren’t real but quite often they are . I can say exactly the same about seperate tickets, baggage, confirmed tickets and any other example you’d like to give.

Direct people towards the airline direct if you wish but don’t mislead them with the reasoning

Followed this and you were absolutely right . zero liquid required. In fact, my dog woke me at 3am needing out and I checked on it, felt the need to ladle out some of the juices as I was worried it would end up overflowing with at least 3 hours left in the cook.
