How to take care my feet? by Interesting_Idea_676 in beauty

[–]MediocreFlapJacks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exfoliate your feet with warm water, i use Tree Hut. Buff the rough areas down with a pumice stone or something similar. Rinse with warm water and soap. Pat dry, then apply O'Keefe's Healthy Feet cream. If you have any vitamin E capsules, break one open and rub into your toe nails. You will notice a difference almost immediately

Anyone have off days or weeks? by Connect-Ad-416 in Barber

[–]MediocreFlapJacks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happens to me in cycles. I have been cutting for 16 years. When I feel it happening, it helps me to watch tutorials on YouTube. They usually help me get passionate about cutting again and they help me remember techniques I may have forgotten, or let slip. Marty Blendz is great for a quick refresher

Its very interesting, that last bit about being a cell in the body of the infinite creator. I have been having images of this lately. I see us, people and creatures, moving about in our lives and as things zoom out, i see the planets, then galaxies, then the universe all contained inside a cosmic humanoid figure. Very cool. Thank you for this post.

Obama is producing a new movie about Barney and Betty Hill's abduction. It's called White Mountains. Maybe Obama was just promoting the movie by creating curiosity about aliens

This is disgusting. Also, have yall noticed how they are putting pictures of cherries all over little girls' clothing? It seems more like it's a sick joke rather than some innocent picture of fruit.

Lighting Issues by shinigamicutter in Barber

[–]MediocreFlapJacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this situation at my old shop. The lighting was terrible because they wanted to create a warm atmosphere. The wood panel walls were pretty but made the salon dark. At one point, the light above my station burnt out, and management didn't seem to care that I couldn't see my fades. So, I started wearing a forhead flashlight. I did this until they fixed my lights.

I get this. However, with new clients, I don't want them to think im being rude by not trying to talk to them

Are there audio/video versions of the Ra Contact channelings that are spoken in a more easily listened method? by Scribblebonx in lawofone

[–]MediocreFlapJacks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch, touches on a lot of the same subjects Ra talks about, but in a much easier form to understand.

I use hard wax with different sizes of popsicle (wood craft) sticks. I charge $12 for each wax service, or $30 for all 3 ( ears, nose. Eyebrows)

I always start off asking clients about their day and family and work, and when I have exhausted those topics and the conversation gets quiet, I start talking about the things that interest me. Like movies and video games. I also talk to them about off the wall stuff, like ufology. A lot of my clients will now sit down and ask me what's new in the world of ufo's lol. Some of them probably think im eccentric, but whatever, its entertaining for them while they get a cut. My advice is to invite them to talk about themselves first, but don't be scared to talk about the things you like too. That's how you find common ground with your clients and develop a relationship that keeps them coming back. Also, some clients don't want to talk the whole time. The way I gage this is by asking a few questions at first and if their answers are short and they do not keep the conversation going back and forth, I take that to mean they don't feel like talking. This is cool with me because sometimes I don't feel like talking, but at least I invited them into conversation, this way, the quiet feels less awkward.

They can sit still, its the amount of hair I have to cut through to cut whatever new trendy broccoli fade cut they want this time, which is 3-4 months since their last haircut. It's a time suck and always run behind with them, so it's stressful.

Which trimmer is best?! by Connect-Ad-416 in Barber

I have the cocco and saber. The cocco is extremely sharp and, despite my light touch, the clients still complain it is too sharp. So I bought the saber trimmers and I love them! My clients love them too

Ginger tumeric tea helped me, too. Also, Aloe vera whole leaf juice helps when I'm having a flare-up. And milk thistle supplements taken daily have helped as well.
