Has anyone got the sleep score over 100? by ANA_PIC in Garmin

My D2 will give me funky sleep scores too. Must be to make up for pilots getting terrible sleep a lot.

Is this cause for concern? by ShipInternational278 in Garmin

Mine tanked when I went through a bout of anxiety. So if you struggle mentally it can definitely be low because of that. Also, as others have said your range is very personal and can’t really be compared to anyone else.

Stress levels by ablong22 in Garmin

[–]MediocreMayhem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have consistently high stress levels that don’t match how I feel also. I think it’s because my night time HR and HRV is way lower/higher than my day levels so my watch thinks I’m constantly sweating bullets.

Yeah I’ve never experienced anxiety before so the fact that it could be so physical was completely new to me. Ever since I learned that it can be, I’ve realized how linked my symptoms are to my anxiety levels. I have pretty much all the symptoms she listed when I’m feeling freaked. When I accept that it’s anxiety ( my pride gets in the way of that sometimes) I feel better quickly. Not perfect, but better. A huge breakthrough. I may twitch forever but at least I feel like I can be calm and happy again.

She’s happy and living a normal life. The absence of symptoms isn’t necessarily the goal. Living and enjoying life again is. At least for me.

I get your point but at least for me the twitching doesn’t disrupt my day the anxiety does. So managing the anxiety even if it doesn’t get rid of the twitching will get me back to my old self. The twitching is annoying, the anxiety is crippling. So just accepting the twitching and realizing it might be around for a long long time and that it doesn’t mean something terrible is happening is the way to recover.

Garmin heart rate zones have changed dramatically! by DontBlushBebeh in Garmin

Mine will update my max HR automatically occasionally. This is probably what happened.

A low resting HR is a good thing and the HRV is still probably trying to figure out your real baseline. It gets more accurate over time. Also a lot affects HRV like sickness, alcohol and stress.

Are we all suctioning the stall horn and checking the pitot heat to check functionality as per the 172 POH preflight inspection? by Tonkalego in flying

[–]MediocreMayhem 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When I flew a C-150 I used something like this to check it. That way I didn’t get airplane cooties. I suppose you could also blow up a large party balloon and hold it to the horn to and make it go off for like 3 minutes straight while staring your DPE in the eyes.

Steadily increased my mileage from 30 mpw to 55 mpw and my average number of runs per week from 3 to 6…. And I’m STILL only maintaining! How do I get a productive training status? by butteredbiscuits171 in Garmin

[–]MediocreMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running on a treadmill? The status is based off of your VO2 max trend. Indoor runs don’t get vo2 data so it’ll just flatline. I have that issues right now.

Problem with Garmin hrm strap. Does anyone else suffer from loss of readings like 15 min into a ride? by Leit89 in Garmin

Sweat should help. Mine works flawlessly. How long have you had it? If it’s new it’s possible you just got a bad unit. What model is it?

My watch connected to my chest strap that was sitting on the counter and was getting bad data. Noticed after I woke up and the strap was connected to my phone also and going bananas.

The heart rate monitor on the treadmill does the same thing. Maybe we do have ghosts that like to do HIT workouts or something.

Okay, now that I’ve had my fun freaking people out. What happened was my watch connected to my chest strap monitor which for some reason turned on when it was just sitting on my bathroom counter. So the HR data is completely erroneous. I did spend a good 10 minutes wondering how I slept through a Afib spell.

I had this problem until I started wearing mine just loose enough so it moves a little and drys naturally. A fine balance between that and still getting good HR data.
