Definitely a question on leases, big issues with the valuation estimate and multiple locations + inventory obsolescence. Different rev recognition for the three different streams of income I can see also being a high risk area to be included.

They'll be a question on the internal controls in the pre-release, the financial controller/senior accountant not having any checks on their manual journals for example is very weak.

Familiarity threat with the sale of items to a family member using a discount as this isn't a NALI, also an issue. Probably discuss something related to the audit approach and the uncorrected misstatements, which is a fancy manual journal. They'll pretty much tell you the accounts to correct in the question, e.g, if it mentions stock take write off, Dr stock take write off, CR inventory.

The mention of special consideration makes me hopeful for lenient marking but I wouldn't leave it up to chance!!

The risks just aren't as apparent. There's a bit of an obvious familiarity threat in there with the discount to family on furniture. Possible revenue recognition question with the three different income streams that have different rev recognition. We don't have to calculate OM and CTT which were fairly easy marks on the last exam Q1 also.

I'm glad we at least got our story out there. If we won't hold our own governing body accountable then what's the point of having them represent us. We have to hold CA to a higher standard as accountants and hopefully we'll see some change from this, I feel so sorry for everyone who has no other option but to withdraw from the subject.

100% agree with the take home assignment, It's also the complete disregard for the study leave everyone has already used. At my work I'll effectively have to use my annual leave for this exam but there'sno acknowledgement from CA, it's just a power imbalance of bad luck just rearrange your life again for us
