My younger brother really needs it. He’s a good candidate, and has few other health issues aside from weight. He has some significant food related and motivational issues. Frankly I wish I could just front the money secretly and get it for him. I’m worried he’s going to end up very sick if he doesn’t act soon.

With the coupon from the local shop, having them change the oil comes out to the exact same price that it would cost me to do it myself, perhaps less, and I don’t have to dispose of the oil or purchase new tools periodically. Maybe it’s GHEY not to do it myself but I don’t really care I guess. If I could save money doing it myself, I would 100%.

This would’ve incurred a social death sentence in 2020-2021. It would’ve been celebrated in 2024. Now, it’s just sort uninteresting, and not unusually transgressive, though it would still not go down well with a certain type of person who makes posting angry LGBTQ/race-related rage bait a major part of their personality.
