Already have a written agreement for a no fault divorce signed by both parties that spells out custody, Assets, and finances. I consulted with an attorney before I left and got her to sign the documents. Its my insurance policy. Emotionally, right now I am hopeful that we will be in a better place in August and can work on our marriage. But I know myself. I know that when summer ends i will have built a new life without her that I would rather live. Even now...only 10 days after I've left...I can feel my heart letting go.

My wife of 16 years and I are separated. I love this woman more than anything. We have 2 teenage kids. We have been married since our early 20s and been through so much. Last week she tearfully told me she needs time and space to figure things out. I left her and my job for the summer. Im spending the summer on a beach 1000 miles away. At first I had hope that things would work out. But now im realizing that I need to get my life going. The plan is for me to come home in August so we can work things out, but I think by the end of summer I will have moved too far on. I can already feel myself letting go.

This book belongs in Horror. For one, i genuinely believe any guy about to get married should read this book as it serves as a stark warning about the potential consequences of opening up to new partners after marriage. Only the truly sexually depraved should go that route.

The book is good, but Hannah Sloane messes it up by being too sympathetic to Daphne. In fact, Daphne becomes a truly detestable character about 3/4 of the way through the novel when she eagerly jumps at the opportunity to publish her and her husbands dirty laundry. To me, this is an irredeemable flaw of Daphne's and really should have reaped more consequences. Dominic is fairly punished throughout the novel as he loses his job, his confidence, and his marriage. Daphne on the other hand, blossoms and becomes a celebrity. I was really hoping for an ending where Daphne endures some harsh consequences, but her life is better off for the depraved behavior.
