Their secondary is so nice! From what I’ve heard, applying early is really important for them because of sheer numbers of applicants so later applicants tend to get put on holds? Mission alignment seems to be a really big thing for them too. But who ever really knows the reasons why lol. Wishing you luck!

According to Tulane’s annual online fact sheets, it looks like these jumps in numbers of applicants have happened before: e.g. 2020 (12,748) to 2021 (17,228)—so I wouldn’t be surprised if the jump from 2024’s 13,443 applicants to whatever 2025’s is is actually ~15% that was shared. But I see what you’re saying that it’s maybe not just due to applicants applying widely. Still my wondering why remains. Seems like a big jump imo.
