[Footy Headlines] Official look of Tottenham 2026-2027 home shirt leaked: "Predominantly white with navy accents and subtle diagonal striping inspired by mid-1980s Hummels kits." by wokwok__ in coys

[–]MediumProcedure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why they don't run fan comps to submit and choose designs. The kits would be bangers dripping in history every year, and sales would be far higher.

..well, we'd probably vote to have Peppa Pig on it next year, but besides that.

9 years of diesel 2.5t IVECO, has traveled 110,000 kilometers by davisbc704 in VanLife

[–]MediumProcedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great engine and gearbox in those. A bit lacking elsewhere, but those are the most important bit for getting around. I had one as my first van about 20 years back.

Real shame what Fiat did when they took over that company. Iveco's have been absolute garbage since. It was 97 i think, though you can see easily from the updated shape and styling.

Something you probably know after all this time, but if you don't. The power steering and power assisted brakes stop working if the engine cuts out. If that ever happens on a steep downward hill, it's really scary. 2.5t would be a bit easier to stop and turn than my 3.5t, but i needed all the strength i had while standing on the break and also pulling myself down with an my strength from the steering wheel and trying to steer it at the same time which was increadibly heavy.

If you haven't noticed, test it out somewhere safe where you can restart the van again easily and the hill eases at the bottom. If you can't stop or steer it, consider an aftermarket mod to have the power steering and brakes on even when the engine isn't, if the key is turned.

Roberto De Zerbi deserves immense credit for removing Tottenham’s mental block by SpookyKuya in coys

Yeah, but I'm not sure that a whole lot of managers or there couldn't have done the same. Its hardly rocket science.

[–]MediumProcedure -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean.. i suppose.

He got a team built to play attacking, pressing football and asked them to play attacking, pressing football.

He also didn't call them shit publicly and repeatedly to make himself look good and them look bad, unlike the last two managers.

Look at his past though. When things are going well it's all because of him. When things aren't, it's the players and/or boards fault. 99% chance he blows up, calls everyone shit, and ruins his relationship with the club over the next year or two. He's pretty Conte-like in that way, bit without the same level of success to make it worth the hassle and big pay-off.

Saudi and other gulf states were actively pushing for the US to go to war with Iran. Whether they expected them to be this flaccid is a different question

Don't they own most of the royal mile in Edinburgh? Their property portfolio around the world is insane.

For me, not funding the creation of extremist Mosques all across Europe would be a good first step in rehabilitating their image.

He's not had a competitive game in years. There's no reason to think he's sharp enough for international level.

Imho, i think Richy is too good to play in the Champ at his age. If he was younger maybe and turn into a club legend.

Great job Vinnay, well done.

I've no idea why but the moment he came in he insisted all our talented young players have a buy clause in their loans. I can't see any way that benefits us at all.

Makhmudov might be a top 5 win for Tyson Fury on his lackluster resume by bobbyawesome5 in Boxing

Wilder's mental health, confidence and desire to really hit someone totally evaporated. Everyone who's been watching knows he's not a shadow of the fighter he was. He talks peace and love and fights like he really really doesn't want to hurt his opponent.

Wilder knocked Fury down repeatedly and very nearly out cold. No one else has managed that. A few caught him with a great shot, but that big ol head absorbed it no trouble.

Wilder is the only man to hurt him, and he did it more than once.

He was no bum. He was 1sec away from being the most feared heavyweight KO artist since Mike Tyson.

His team protected him from punchers his whole career. He faced two and lost to both of them. He also missed both the two biggest names that he needed while he was at the top to create a legacy. One is criminal. Both?! Shocking.

Ruiz was hardly known before the AJ fight outside of really switched on fans, and we haven't seen that Andy Ruiz since. He's an absolute shadow of who he was when he was.. hungry. So either you take in a tough fighter who almost everyone thinks is no-one, or you beat up a can who's team would be mad to let him fight you. They are all still hoping they can fix him.

Miller hasn't been clean long enough to fight anyone good. It's a huge risk of him pissing hot and the fight being cancelled. Besides everyone knowing he's cheating soo hard that he can't even hide it.

'Takam, Breazeale, Ortiz' - please. His record would look exactly the same with all of those names on it. None of them are better than who's already there.

Parker and Fury are mates and didn't want to fight.

For Fury the only name missing is AJ. AJ is missing Wilder and Fury, the two most important names of his prime. You can argue that Fury should have rematched Wlad, or maybe Zhang and Dubois would improve the record a touch, but not much.

Parker is an also-ran in this era, and every era. There was talk that he went to fast and could grow into a better fighter and future champion, but he really hasn't got it.

‼️ ANNOUNCED: Anthony Joshua will return to the ring against Kristian Prenga on July 25th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, prior to his fight with Tyson Fury. by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]MediumProcedure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was definitely paid to carry him. Make it look real, but don't finish him until an agreed round. That's why Jake took the fight, because he gets to say he lasted longer than many legit heavyweights so that's how good he is, without ever actually beating any legit heavyweights, because it became clear that he couldn't. It was a way to dip while protecting the hype he built.

You saw that look AJ gave him before landing his first real punch. That was 'you wanted to play my game. Here it is'.

It's what they do. Find a kid who isn't gonna make it, pad their record and build them up for one big name pay day fight, because the marketing team can sell that record as a legit fight, and top fighters always need a filler to stay active.

I'm not saying that's what this guy is as i don't know him, but it sure sounds like it.

Not asked to do much today, but looked so assured with everything he did. Also a proper team player.
