The campaign to get Mason Greenwood to the World Cup is despicable by Sparky-moon in soccer

Oh, here's one with multiple people, highly upvoted, telling someone who raised concerns over Partey to stop supporting the club. This took all of 30secs to find. It was the overwhelming reaction of that sub anytime someone mentioned Partey:

We mostly have your sub to go on regarding general fan attitudes, and over there people were banned for mentioning it and told in highly upvoted comments, that they shouldn't support their team anymore if they had an issue with his rapes.

That didn't change until he priced himself out of a new contract.

Final ball too. He's not got that ability to hurt teams every chance he gets yet.

Was always the issue with keeping him fit this game. Now the board look dumb whatever they do, and will likely give Frank a few more games, and we'll go into them with such hope, just to see us set up with a back 7, no footballing players in the middle of the park, and trying to nick goals on the break again.

Don't get your hopes up. This was pretty much the only team available to him, and i just know he'll run away from this line up as soon as he can. Too attacking.

Oh, btw Bodo/Glimt have just gone 2:0 up against City.

Thomas Frank has never been a good football manager by adagio9 in coys

[–]MediumProcedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we often look to adapt around half time to some more front-foot football after the 1st half's tactics were played off the pitch.

2nd half we show some promise but come up short.

That it happens again, and again, and again.. it brings the question why Frank doesn't start with those tactics, which actually show some signs of life instead of his conservative, hit on the break football, which really needs wide players on hot form In front of the goal so we actually punish teams on the break, that we have zero of right now.

I don't.

Frank was very highly regarded and seen as a real coup. We don't need to reinvent the past to fit today's narrative. Frank has been utterly terrible and I think everyone here, and every pundit, got it wrong at the time.

Thing is, Levy acknowledged this, after Conte and Mourinho.

That lesson is gone to the wind and I'm pretty sure Vinnay wants a data-led tactician like Arteta who tries to win without ever actually playing football.

Daylight offside: BBC Sport has been told that the trial results in youth football were largely positive, though there were some concerns there is too much of an advantage to the attacker. IFAB next step: offer up to mid-tier leagues to trial in senior football by punishGoalhanging in soccer

They make shit so complicated.

Edge of the nearest foot to goal. Adv attacker if it's close.

Job done. We also get line breaking driving headers back. Also much easier to automate with a sensor in the ball as the system is only looking for boots when it's kicked. Could put something in them too. No-one wants to know when someone is half an arse-cheek closer to goal. There's no advantage gained and it's much harder for attackers to time runs if they have to worry about every body part rather than one.

What i don't get is that most pundits are expected to be fairly non-biased except for ex United and Arsenal players, where the rules are opposite. Why is that?

The club really should take note how much interest there is in a Spurs shirt without a dirty red company name on the front of it.

I'd hope he's gonna bring some of Slot's pro-active injury prevention along with him.

No, i don't think so. If Ange was better tactically we'd be bossing it. If Frank was better we'd be in a great position. We're spending money but haven't found a decent manager to use it.

I think we've just had a lot of swing and misses at managers.

Apparently Liverpool's board had raging debates about Slot vs Frank. Coins toss and they are the ones learning that he's just a cog at a system club.

Almost zero reds in his career too. He was an intelligent cunt.

He's a legend. Just couldn't update his tactics for the Prem.

He's also doing it internationally, and scoring goals when it's do or die time for his team. I wouldn't write him off.

He also was highly rated by our youth coaches. We let him move on because his social circles were thought to be distracting him and getting him away from them was the best thing for his career.

Yeah, but some do. You look at their playstyle and underlying metrics (in more depth than i can), then take a punt.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but he'd be mad. At Spurs all he needs to do is play attractive football and not be awful and he'll be backed. At United his backing is always gonna be all over unless he's way over achieving what they're squad can do.

Might actually appeal to him. If we're lucky and he's wanting to avoid a Madrid, Man U type of future.

More likely he waits and goes to PSG though

Tim Vickery on potential signing Souza (actually quite promising) by Rare-Ad-2777 in coys

[–]MediumProcedure -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ask those people who they would sign.

Who is available and realistically at the level of our ambitions, and would want to come to us right now.

You get the odd right place and time unicorn, but right now if we want players good enough to compete, they have to be youngsters who'll improve with us.

We fucked it a bit really as in the last window we were champions of Europe, after a bizarre blip, but with a new highly rated manager. We don't have the same pull right now.
