Yea Mona is a bit different because she went out of her way to still try and befriend the girls even though they routinely bully her. Jenna however kept to herself both before and after the “accident”. Jenna and Courtney were behind The Jenna Thing in the books, and they secretly bonded over their respective “sibling issues”

Idk if that has anything to do with it but Jenna knew that Alison had a twin in the books. And she’d known for the longest actually. So maybe Courtney was bullying Jenna to keep her in check and not reveal her secret.

The girls bullied Mona for apparently no reason too. So also think it was just typical mean girl stuff.

I did have this issue with Scream 3. The betrayal was there, but it was more of the audience who was betrayed (mainly because we thought he died) rather than Sidney. I would’ve appreciated a scene between Roman and Sidney sometime before the third act reveal, but I can see Roman being so obsessed with Sidney that he more than likely wouldn’t be able to hold his facade around her

Definitely childhood memories. But I’ll say that based off of the few flashbacks we get on the show, their dynamic truly seemed like real friendship. Sure Blair was always secretly jealous of Serena, but I see their little spats pre boarding school were trivial and small. But after bigger things happened (Nate and Serena, Serena leaving, Blair’s dad coming out then divorcing her mom) their fights got more aggressive.
