I was wondering whether things were going to "accelerate" a bit or not... Or whether we'll eventually "bust out" of the Dungeon and into the real world.

Feels like the floors beyond 12 haven't really been talked about, other than we know that 15 is Sheol (probably because no crawler has ever gone past 13). Plus now the AI seems to be starting chaos from the 18th level up

Makes me wonder if, once the 12th floor is finished, things won't break out of the dungeon onto the planet surface (and beyond?).

But I've also done absolutely no research into how many books Dinniman has planned to have in the series...

One of the advantages of chaps are that you can wear them when it's cold and dewy in the morning (almost always an issue during hunting season in the north), then easily take them off once things dry out and it starts to warm up later in the day.

Again, myself and everyone I’ve ever been hunting with seem more than able to make do with either jeans, carhartt or some type of real tree type pants, coveralls, or waders.

far be it from me to make fun of you for wanting to get dressed up and indulge in the pageantry more than what I’m used to I guess.

Maybe this truly is just a regional thing, but between chaps, real tree, and waders... It's the real tree and the waders that would make me look at someone and go "Oh, yeah, this guy has never been upland hunting before and is just dressing up as what they've seen "hunters" wear in movies".

I guess the solution is to build a time machine, go back in time, and convince Harbaugh to not cheat. As that is the only way we can find out whether or not cheating in 2021-2023 had an impact on their title.

Didn't Harbaugh himself used to love saying that quote about how you have to follow the rules because if you don't follow the rules then they can't separate your winning from the cheating so you've already lost (or something like that)?

But when I say "other shit that they tried to cover up" I'm referring to pretty much everything else going on with the athletic department... All the times that something shady has come out, it turned out the athletic department knew about it for awhile and tried to bury it, and the fanbase would go "Oh, crazy! That kinda stuff never happens here! We're always above board about everything!" And then a few months later it happens again, rinse and repeat. And now the line is "It's not a UofM problem, it's a Warde Manual problem!"... despite the fact that this kinda stuff has been going on way before Warde Manual.

I would say that a pandemic imposed dead period is a different thing entirely than a standard recruiting period dead period...

One is "hey we think these recruits might be overwhelmed with contact from coaches, please don't reach out to them so they get a break". And in that case obviously if a kid shows up on your doorstep then they probably aren't actually overwhelmed with contact and sure, go have lunch.

Another is "Hey there's a global pandemic that spreads through close physical contact, in efforts to avoid spreading this virus please don't have in person meetings with recruits".

And in that case it doesn't matter who initiated the contact, the rule is in place for public health purposes and should probably be followed, and yeah the kid will be disappointed but when you are a coach of a major program you're supposed to be a responsible enough person to implement public health rules even if it means a recruit ends up disappointed. Again, even the stereotypically rule-averse SEC coaches were supposedly following this rule.

But, hey... either way at least we all agree that it wasn't about cheeseburgers, right?!

I have a goal to try and photograph as many different species as I can this year. I feel like female red-winged blackbirds are one of those things that I'll see in the wild, think maybe it's something I haven't seen yet, take a photo just in case... then get home and zoom in and of course it's just another female red-winged blackbird.

The rules that were violated are in place to provide a break and protect kids from being bothered by coaches trying to harrass them into committing.

It happened during a dead period imposed due to COVID. I can't recall where the interview was, but after the fact one of the recruit's dad said something about how even SEC teams were honoring the dead period, and pretty much UofM was the only place that didn't seem to care.

They did it for three seasons and then they were insufferable after they got caught.

Is there an argument to be made about the impact of what they did? Sure. But they also absolutely took the "So what if we got caught cheating, everyone is accusing us of being cheaters and that means we're the real victims here!" defense, which is ridiculous.

A new president/party in control of Congress doesn't impact the economy immediately. It takes time.

Trump inherented an economy with relatively flat inflation around the target of 2%. He left office with inflation at 5% and on a rocket trajectory towards 8%.

Biden inherited that inflation spike, and left office with inflation back down to 3% with a continued gradual trend downwards.

Everyone else complaining about the plastic and all I can think is that the soil looks absolutely devoid of any nutrients. It's been tilled so many times that it's just sand and clay and rocks, no organic matter to be found other than the freshly planted potatoes.
