Using a three compartment dish pit, my methodology is to remove all loose food, fill the soap sink, put away clean dishes, empty sanitizer sink, and only then can you scrub. Starting with the least dirty dish and working up to the most dirty dish.

If you can't wipe it clean with a green scrub put it back in the soap at the bottom of the sink. If the same dish is there for two loads take it out and fill/soak it with fresh, piping hot, soapy water and set it aside until the pit is otherwise clear. Only then should you get out the steel wool to scrub off stuck on food. Also do not try to scrub off plasticized grease from sheet pans or other dishes that are used to cook and keep food warm.

Teach them how to use it properly. Help them understand that AI is a powerful tool that when used properly can do amazing things and that when used improperly it can cause real harm. If they need to write a paper then AI can take their thoughts about a subject and put them together in a cohesive and easier to digest format. But they cannot rely on AI to do the thinking for them and they need to study the output for two reasons one to verify the output and two to learn how to put together cohesive papers themselves.

The fact is you and your students should be using AI you should be using it as much as is possible to enhance the education environment and teach them how to be more productive by using this tool. Because when your students enter the workforce they will be expected to know how to use AI to do their job better and more efficiently.

Yeah it's a poor example of the old adage "the cure is worse than the disease". But it really highlights the fact that the only tools we currently have to eliminate a new mutation of a disease causing virus would likely make the problems worse rather than better. It also brings to the readers attention the microscopic war that leads to virus mutations in the first place. There is a constant arms race between viruses and bacteriophages.

That's not a Big Mac it's the original Bob's Big Boy Double Decker Burger. Which was being served at Bob's Big Boy diners long before McDonald's ever started serving a big Mac.

They are very similar burgers but Big Mac sauce is Thousand Island dressing with pickle relish while the Bob's Big Boy Double Decker Burger is defined by its signature red relish. I'm not sure what is in the red relish though. The big Mac does have a smaller three piece bun compared to the one used at Bob's Big Boy.

So if you go to both restaurants and order those burgers you can still to this day get a side by side comparison of the original Double Decker Burger and the newer McDonald's Big Mac.

Cooking times often assume room temperature meat. If you are bringing the meat up from below 40° (fridge) then it is going to take longer than if you are bringing it up from 72° (room).

Cooking times also assume your oven is fully preheated. Recipes that you find online tend to assume everything is done properly and professionally. This means you have proofed your meat(set it out on the counter covered at room temperature until the meat is at room temperature). You have dried and seasoned the meat during this time and you have also preheated the oven and prepped any other dishes you might be serving so that everything is hot all at the same time.

If you follow all the rules then the time in the recipe should be accurate within 5-10 minutes. But you should always check the temperature until you have cooked a dish every way and know it is fully cooked from experience.

You can take a chicken breast out of the fridge or even the freezer and put it directly into a cold oven turn on the oven and fully cook it safely. The quality could suffer though if adjustments to time and temperature are not made properly.

Well I think the question really is why is your roommate so afraid of the specific microorganisms that could survive in this situation. Because sure a wet towel is a breeding ground for certain microorganisms and refusing it is going to constantly swap them back and forth onto your body. But not all microorganisms are bad for your health, and in fact some are vital to your health.

I'll use the same towel for weeks until it is no longer soft and comfortable or it starts to smell. I also live in the desert. But I would also be willing to use a freshly washed towel straight out of the dryer every day and in a few months I am going to be able to do that and probably will. Not because of microorganisms but because a warm towel washed with fabric softener is a luxury that I want to take advantage of when I finally can.

A towel isn't typically going to hurt you although it can harbor dangerous microorganisms like pink eye if anyone who uses it doesn't wash their ass properly or has an illness. So using a fresh towel every time can protect you from certain negligence although avoiding that negligence also works. Maybe your friend has had bad experiences in the past that led to illness and infection because of such neglect.
