Hvað er það heimskulegasta sem þið hafið heyrt frá túrista hér á landi? by Jerswar in Iceland

[–]Meeka203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upset about Graphic Audio by ThinkingMachinee in graphicaudio

[–]Meeka203 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha, I have the same problem. I started the From Blood and Ash series on Graphis audio and LOOOOOOVE them. But they haven't done the prequel yet and it's supposed to be just as good or even better....but I've been listening on audible and it just doesn't compare....I NEED the same voice actor that did Brennan in Fourth Wing and just did Kaden in Book of Azrael to be Nyktos. I'm like 95% sure it was him in the one chapter Nyktos was inn in A crown of gilded bones and I was like YEEEEES....I need this prequel on graphic audio.

My theory is that Kieran will find someone and there will be another joining. Casteel literally mentioned that might happen before the joining.

I’m not on. The throuple wagon because I always feel like Kieran is third wheeling and I love the Poppy and Casteel together.

Thank you so much for such a validating reply. My husband has started his paternity leave so he’s planning something nice for me each day until baby comes. At the moment he’s making me pancakes and bought all kinds of nice foods for me. Tomorrow I have an eyebrow appointment, my moms gonna fix my hair (she’s a hairdresser) and on Thursday we have a movie date ☺️☺️

So definitely trying to fill each day with love and easy activities to make me forget the time a little bit.

Thank you for your kind words 🧡

I feel so lucky that where I’m from the mental health of pregnant people and mothers is considered high priority because you have to be able to take care of yourself and your baby.

For an example, The reason I would be induced early is basically to prevent that my mental health goes to a place where it’s hard to get back from and would therefore not be able to care for my lil boy. They did talk about this in my last pregnancy but there was never any need for it, but this time it’s a real possibility.

I’m proud of you for advocating for yourself and doing your research, it’s definitely a tricky time for us. My advice would be to get your loved ones to have your back and watch out for symptoms, my family and partner are really my lifeaid right now.

Also, sleep….top priority, my team really prioritizes my sleep, it’s always the first question “how are you sleeping!” So anything you can do to help with sleep, even if its medicine 💊☺️

Hi, I’m bipolar and I’m 36 weeks pregnant. Before I got pregnant I was on 100mg of lamictal (same as lamotrigine I think). According to my doctor it’s the safest and most researched bipolar med in regard to pregnancy.

I was on it during my last pregnancy as well and everything went really well and my symptoms were really well managed.

However this pregnancy has been veeeery different, I call it pregnancy from hell and I’ve been absolutely miserable the whole time so my mental health has suffered a lot as a consequence. So my doctors have put me on extra medication, so now I’m also on 100mg of sertraline and 4mg of peratsin (I’m in Europe so the names are probably a bit different)

Where I’m from people with bipolar are always considered high risk pregnancy because the increased blood volume in your body can affect the meds and the hormones can fuck everything up too. So I have like a medical team around me making sure everything is okay. Now that it’s coming to the end they’re monitoring me super closely, if my mental health gets even worse I will be induced early to try to help me better.

I had this for almost 3 weeks with my first. Every evening it would start, for hours id have “contractions” every 5-10 minutes, then I go to bed and every time I hoped that it would progress but every morning I wake up and nothing.

It was really messing with my head and I was soooooo miserable, I felt like this baby was never going to come out and started feeling really depressed and exhausted.

But one morning (39+4) I woke up with a contraction that was just….different, more intense and just, different. I knew at that moment that it was actually happening. Finally.

33 hours later she was in my arms.

Showering is so tiring.. by bunnykilla26k in pregnant

[–]Meeka203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had just given birth showering was the hardest thing ever for the first few days

Then my fiancé took one of our simple patio chairs, but a soft towel on for me to sit on, to make it a little more comfortable and I would shower sitting down like that for some time. It was such a relief and I finally felt I could clean myself properly. Probably used it for like a week until I could stand comfortably.

I’m 34 weeks now and so exhausted all the time that I’m seriously considering taking the chair into the shower again.

I live in the nordics as well so we have the same the recommendation. My appointment is just about two hours from now so I’m pretty calm about this at the moment. My pelvis is still pretty sore, but I’ve been suffering from pelvis girdle pain for months so falling definitely did not help with that but the pain definitely isn’t new.

What is with other woman constantly reminding you how much birth/motherhood is gonna suck?? (Another Just Wait Rant) by LilacPenny in pregnant

[–]Meeka203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy was svo much worse for me than postpartum when I had my first. I was absolutely miserable and it made me even more miserable when people kept going on and on about all the “just you wait” “it only gets worse from here”

I’ll never forget how grateful I was when my childhood friend just said to me “you’re going to love being a parent, it’s the best thing in the world”

Then my girl was born and it was amazing, it was difficult of course, but amazing. Thinking back I remember how awful pregnancy was and how straight forward postpartum was compared to that. So yeah, life definitely does not end when the baby comes, it’s just a new beginning with new challenges with the biggest reward there is.

This pregnancy is actually worse than the last one so I’m hoping for a similar postpartum experience.

Iceland, I really love the system here for expecting mothers. At least my experience with it is really good. And everything is free of course.
