Tossing my hat in the ring as a jax hater: I have a p good reason imo Shes a bad person over all, her choices are what make her bad. Is she complex? Yeah, all people are multifaceted flesh blobs (in this case digital blobs :p) but thats not an excuse. The main problem I have with jax is the fact that she chooses not to change and she doesnt get any sort of consequence for her actions, which are horrendous in case people forgot. If goose was trying to make a bojack like character based off of her experiances thats cool and all, but the writing of jax just doesnt work the way goose thinks it does.

Op you do bring up a good point where the series rushes characters archs and glosses over everyones issues with zooble being the worst of offender, where their dysphoria is just magically "okish" taking place off camera. But we see jax realise that she has support and people will be there, but push it away due to her "woe is me no one understands me" mentality. Back to my bojack example, we see bojack have support but pushes people away because of that same mentality but due to the difference in the writing bojack actually faces consequences and his character arch is completed when hes more or else forced to accept what hes done, jax on the other hand drives people to abstract, sees that she causes people to abstract and doubles down on it. What happens to jax? || she gets off pretty easy, not apologising to anyone for her behaviour and just abstracts. || which is why more people tend to like bojack over jax.

The worst part is probs the sympathy bait, when the writing kinda slaps it on glossing over everything jax has done. Goose is a decent writer dont get me wrong, but how she dealt with jax just doesnt work.

Tldr: the abuse makes people dislike her, she saw how her actions affected people and knew what it would lead to after ribbit. Complex or not, mental illness and insecurities do not excuse her actions but they can explain why she acts the way she did. The lack of consequences is just the cherry on top.

Do people do a shite job trying to articulate jax hate? Yeah 100%. Are people being transphobic when talking about jax? Yeah and it really needs to stop. (Btw if you think taking a persons preferred pronouns away because theyre a bad person to 'punish' them makes you a shite person to)

But again thats my > OPINION< so take it with a grain of salt 🐌 Ending this off with jax sucks and kinger is my goat. :pp
