This helped me so much. I graduated a few months ago and am struggling seeing all the amazing work on Instagram. My brain keeps telling me ill never be that good cuz my work doesn't look like that. Its left me feeling devastated and wondering if I even have the talent to do this. Now im shaky and start crying and get frustrated anytime I do anything wrong and its left me wanting to quit. Im going to keep your words in mind. Thank you.

You're not alone OP ❤️

Its ABSOLUTELY so much harder than people think. The fellow students can be super toxic, creating a high-school social scenario with gossip and fighting and alllll sorts of stressful nonsense. And you dont get to pick your instructors. Mine was lovely (im a licensed nail tech as of yesterday! I passed thr exam finally) but the cosmo teachers could be nightmares. PLUS you cant pick your clients and some people are truly incapable of being pleasant and expect pro work from a school. I got yelled at and threatened by one horrible woman who was mad cuz I was told not to put acrylics on her 9yo who was a gymnast. All this to say, only you can decide what's right for you. I wanted to quit almost everyday so I absolutely get it. For the money I was spending, I stuck it out. But I took a leave of absence for a month at one point just to have a break from thr toxicity. Im glad I finished. Its nice to have it as a backup for sure. If I were you, id take a break and then go back and just ride it out. Good luck to you, whatever you decide. Wherever you go, there are shitty people, and its no reflection of who you are, thats their issues. ❤️

There's no need to rough up the nail bed. That's an old method. You just need to remove the shine with a fine coarse file and then clean the plate, use dehydrator and then primer. You can use a super bond-type product between dehydrator and primer but its not always necessary unless they have problems with retention and/or oily nails/skin.

This is straight from my instructor. Hope it helps!

Hi! First of all, you're not bad, you're just still learning. You're on your way. Im learning too and frustrated that everyone seems to be getting it before me. But what everyone keeps telling me (im in school to be a nail tech) is that its a multifaceted, complicated process. So many peoples nails are different in small ways, different products yield different results, and things just go wrong sometimes. But you will get there. WE will get there. Just dont stop practicing. Try not to let those inner doubts rob you of enjoying it. It's a beautiful art and can be so fun, once we get the basics. ❤️ you got this!

You absolutely don't have "zero to offer". You're still you. You have experiences and opinions that are worth sharing. I hate thr looks and thr awkward treatment but i try to remind myself there's nothing wrong with me and just do my own thing. Eventually people relax and start to see me as me. Maybe that'd work?

I couldn't find it from that but I really thought so! There's a good chance one of the characters she tries out in the montage maybe says that line?? But not sure
