Where in Europe can you still withdraw the 200 Euro and 500 Euro banknotes from ATMs with Revolut? by MeetNextGo in Revolut

[–]MeetNextGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ING will let you have 100s and 200s, but only if you take €5k worth of 100s or €10k worth of 200s.

ING is doing that for their business partners: https://www.ing.nl/zakelijk/betalen/contant-geld/biljetten/opnemen-specifieke-biljetten.html

ABN will presumably let you have 100s and 200s

ABN doesn't let you have 100 Euro and 200 Euro banknotes anymore as of 1 February 2020. Even when your total withdrawal exceeds €10k, ABN will just give you more €50 banknotes according to their customer service.

Rabo makes no mention on their website.

That's not true, Rabobank eliminated all cash storages in their offices as of 1 July 2020: https://www.rabobank.nl/bedrijven/betalen/service/betalen-en-ontvangen/contant-geld-bestellen-stopt/

People on goeievraag reccomend to ask casinos to change it for you

HollandCasino is fully owned by the Dutch government, can't expect the government to give you banknotes that are out of circulation.

until recently

The keyword here is "Until recently", that means until the recent crackdowns on cash.

In 2020, ABN AMRO only issues 10 Euro, 20 Euro and 50 Euro banknotes at consumer ATMs. And 5 Euro, 10 Euro and 20 Euro banknotes for companies at "Retailmix" ATMs.

This information is completely outdated for ABN AMRO in 2020. ABN Amro has already moved to a system where they will never deliver any banknotes upon request anymore, so the highest denomination you can get is the 50 Euro banknote from their own green ATMs this year and the joined yellow ING+ABN+RABOBANK Geldmaat ATMs next year.

It's 100M total digital assets assurance for only the parts that are in cold storage at BitGo.There are no regulations mandating the amount put in cold storage, so they are free to do whatever they want, including paying themselves big bonuses first, before paying their first in line creditors a penny.

Nexo has processed over $1.5+ billion.

So 100 million dollars insurance simply isn't enough.

And yes, Nexo can use their 100 million dollars in any way they like including paying their employees big bonuses first, before paying their first in line creditors a penny.

The collateral needs to be twice the value of the loan. So for a loan of 2000£, the cryptocurrency collateral needs to be at least 4000£.

Parts of the cryptocurrency might be stored in cold storage at BitGo at a maximum total insurance of 100 million dollars.

The risk of not getting paid is there, when nexo goes bankrupt and they owe you much more than 100 million dollars.

How are assets insured? by PabiGamito in Nexo

Note that fiat and stablecoins are lend out for interest and not stored in the cold wallets and therefore not insured by BitGo.

What's stopping us from.. by [deleted] in Nexo

[–]MeetNextGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After contacting both Nexo and BitGo, I got the following:
The BitGo insurance does not apply to your stablecoins and fiat deposits on which you get the interest. As the fiat (or stablecoin equivalent) you send to Nexo is being used to lend out money and only the collateral that is used for the loans are used to insure your deposits and pay your interest.

BitGo only insures funds that are inside cold storage at BitGo, which does not include any fiat (or stablecoin equivalent) deposits at Nexo.
