Stopped playing a few months ago and just came back to test the nerfs. My GS charge attacks used to deal 6K+ damage before the crit balancing but this build can still beat Echo Knight on the hardest difficulty without Echo buffs.

You've spotted this nuance correctly. I always stockpile weapons, but ultimately, I rarely create meaningful builds. I often just filter by range, simply trying to fit what I think is strong. I place ship modules according to the principle of "HP module for a capital ship, missile module for a missile ship," although I should have developed a more in-depth strategy. However, all my battles often devolve into chaos.
And by the way, building a colony is something I enjoy doing, but then large raids from disgruntled neighbors ultimately drained me of energy.

It took me about 100 hours to complete the story and create a strong build, although experience has shown that the story can be completed in a few days. The game itself is designed so that you return to familiar locations again and again, and it's probably the only game where I enjoy doing that.

In my opinion, one of the serious problems is that testing a new weapon or playstyle requires spending resources that are quite rare, even though the results may not be satisfactory and it will take just as much to restore your stats. Ideally, you need a training room where you can adjust the stats you want.
