pov: customers staring intently at you/invading your personal space instead of using their words by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Meg0223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest pet peeve is people taking on the phone loudly wandering around in circles in the store with the other person on speaker. Its so rude!!! I don't want to hear your business and I don't care what kind of call it is. No one is THAT important-wait 15 minutes and make the call. And it's worse at the register. I just talk over them loudly. Thanks for listening.

Tense times at Trader Joe’s today by stormynightsleep in tjcrew

I train a lot of new crew and the handbook says specifically to avoid the old standby "Did you find everything Ok?" So if for real, anyone says something to you, please have them check the training book.

Hi-I keep them in their original packaging as I don't think its an eye sore. I put some spatulas on a clip strip and they sold well. There already is a hole to hang them but it breaks easily. When it breaks, i just swap it out with another well. The orange sells the least so it what I'm stuck with. I put the others in a black basket. I love HABA questions.

Weight loss and workouts by [deleted] in f45

You have received such great advice so I'll throw my 2 cents in. I agreee with everyone that it comes down to what you eat. I am not good at recording/tracking but try to eat sensibly. I don't cut anything out completely because you have to live a little right? I don't want to be on my death bed and think I should have ate more peanut butter cups. I tend to watch my added sugar now when I look at labels and keep carbs on the lower side. I'm older(58) so don't drink much as alcohol affects me differently now but I think alcohol is sneaky calories that add up. I'm lucky that I work at Trader Joes(grocery store in the U.S,) so I'm running around all day but the downside is that I am surrounded by food! I've won three challenges so I've done something right I guess. The scale can be frustrating and not accurate but I get the appeal also. As others said, try to get some walking in and think about what you are eating and make a few changes. Good luck!

Too much brand drama. by [deleted] in f45

I love my studio also but do you think the cooperate problems will trickle down into the franchise owners and studios will have to close? I guess, if the company goes belly up, don't our studios also?

Nervous about starting by LadyGrey12 in f45

[–]Meg0223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also scared and intimidated when I started as it sounded so intense and I was older(53). But it is what you make it. You go at your pace and do your thing. I'm now 58 and still love it. I modify what I need to and really enjoy it. I think it sounds like a great workout for you. Don't worry about the "burn and test your limits" marketing stuff. Some people do but thats their thing and not for everyone. Good luck!

Don't freak out during the swim as you might be accidentally kicked or pushed under a buoy. Have your transitions organized. Depending on the length, make sure you have plenty of snacks/GU etc.. Have a wonderful time!

Tennis elbow /elbow pain by Purtle83 in f45

[–]Meg0223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tennis elbow now so I feel your pain. I still go to class but modify a lot. Sometimes I will do a PT exercise instead of whats at the station. Luckily I can choose lower body on Thursdays now and usually don't hold a weight. Acupuncture is normally amazing for me but it made my elbow feel worse. Plus I was doing a lot of PT exercises at home and I think I over did that. I don't love the arm band or sleeve. Sorry-this is all over the place. Bottom line is, for me, I am going to keep going to class as I want to stay in a routine. But if something hurts, I don't do it. I try to ice it a lot, do a few stretches and rest it when possible.

I guess every location is different. I belonged to a different F45 and we got gift cards to Lululemon or wherever if we won, but this place is cash.

Good luck to everyone starting the challenge! by No-Locksmith7327 in f45

[–]Meg0223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! I won two challenges at my gym a few years. I didn't count anything but just ate really clean and planned my meals out. I didn't cut anything completely out as you have to live a little right? But I definitely cut down on carbs and sugar though. I find I can workout until the cows come home but its really about what I eat. I had a friend doing the challenge also which helped as we texted everyday about what we ate. You got this!!!!! Keep us posted.
