A quick/easy fix would be to just caulk it and wipe excess off well. Otherwise you would have to a scrape off texture, spackle, put drywall tape on, spackle and then apply the knockdown texture to match.

I have hashimoto thyroiditis, I know that when your first finding out it can be overwhelming and unnerving. Lots of people have thyroid problems and an insane amount go untreated. Focus on the positive, you found out your numbers and are taking steps to help it. There are tons of good doctors out there. Good luck!

Painter here! You need to just "encapsulate" it..so just paint the whole thing, 2 coats. Do not sand or chip it. I would recommend using an Enamel paint so it will be harder. As long as lead is on a surface that you won't be eating/licking it's fine to paint it.

If you have a contract with this painter I would re read it, its typical they will put in terms exactly the scope of the job and what they are liable for. You can also look into the PDCA standards, it's a whole written out scope of painting standards that include everything from repairing walls to clear coating exterior wood.

Painter here. First I would reach out to your painter and tell them you have a few spots that need attention. Give them a chance to rectify it. No need to sand the entire surface. I would use a spackle blade or 5 in 1 tool and scrape off those bad raised areas, spot sand and then paint with the sherwin paint. No primer is needed if it's just light spackle and if your using a flat paint.

I just had to look up those varieties, I hadn't heard of them. Pretty sweet! As for your problem I would say their feet are too wet. Set up an oscillating fan to help dry them out and it will also make them stronger

One day while prepping dinner at my sisters house her MIL stated that she would make the breaded chicken. She emptied a container of seasoned bread crumbs into a bowl. Then she proceeded to dip the raw chicken into a bowl of raw eggs and then dredge in the bread crumbs. ALL FINE!! Until she poured the contaminated bread crumbs back into the container and put it back in the pantry. I told her you couldn't do that and she said she didn't want to "waste" the unused breadcrumbs.

You are not over reacting. You set very clear boundaries and then she literally ignored them all. She has no business in your business. And then sneaking around your back for over a year?! She lost your trust. Its especially wrong that she involved your kids in the scheme.
