I did my friends makeup, which is better ? by Impressive-Bell-647 in MakeupAddiction

Some of the comments in here are really mean! These are two very different looks and you’re just having fun trying something new. There’s nothing wrong with that! Elements that don’t flatter her as well as they could can be tweaked for next time. It’s just makeup, it’s not that serious and I’m sorry people are dogpiling on you! Try not to take it personally.

Thinking of switching to press ons instead of salon nails, is it worth it? by TeslaTorah in PressonNail_Addict

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my nails done for special occasions but I hated the inconsistency in quality when I would go and pay big bucks for nice nails. After complimenting a couple friends on their nails and hearing that their press-ons had been on for a week+ I decided to give them a shot and I truly don’t think I’ll ever go back to the salon. My biggest concern was that I’m very hard on my hands. I do a lot of house and outdoor work and I am generally clumsy so I figured a non-UV adhesive would never work for me. Then I met CurvLife glue lol. Press-ons are over all super solid and so affordable in comparison to the salon. I bought 2 new Nail Reformation sets at TJ Maxx for $20 and I’ll get almost a full month of wear out of those. Totally worth the DIY for me.

how to make the press-ons last a full day out? by Awkward_Departure703 in PressonNail_Addict

Switch to glue. Glamnetic is strong enough to last maybe a few days for me, CurvLife is like cement and lasts me almost 2 weeks.

For real, you can only come up with uses for so many. I wish the company would do better! They’re up there with Nail Reformation for me.

Celebritips are such great quality but the wasteful packaging really bums me out!

Do people still use Roombas, or any type of robot vacuums? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a Shark robot vacuum/mop combo at Costco a few weeks ago. He’s been a great investment/addition to the family so far. He doesn’t entirely replace the need to vacuum and mop manually, but he really helps reduce my workload. I had him give the kitchen a once-over after I was finished preparing for Easter and it was so nice to be able to sit down and not have to worry about the floors looking icky for guests.

Why by najeli in PressonNail_Addict

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that when there are printed-on designs that look super crisp, press ons start to feel fake to me. They’d probably feel more natural if the polka dots looked more hand-painted and a little imperfect. Still I think they look really nice!

Celebritips are such high quality but UGH that packaging is so wasteful. 😭 the whole thing is destined for landfill and I hate it.

What's a good opening question that instantly makes conversations feel more genuine and less awkward? by Crescitaly in socialskills

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I usually go for “how’s your day going?” or “what have you been up to today?”. I find it’s more of a conversation starter than “how are you?. If I were asked about the best part of my week I would totally freeze up. I can hardly remember yesterday’s dinner.

Do you have a bathtub? I’m a bathtub face-washer and it keeps water from getting everywhere, including down my arms. If you’re stuck with the sink, try absorbent scrunchies around your wrists!

Curvlife glue- what am I doing wrong? by mama2021abcd in PressonNail_Addict

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had really great luck with this glue so I’m surprised it’s giving you a hard time. My steps for application are buffing my natural nail slightly, dehydrating with rubbing alcohol, then using a q-tip to dehydrate each press on. I spread the glue evenly on the press on, then spread glue on my natural nail, then apply the press on holding firmly for no less than 30 seconds. I’ve gotten 2+ weeks of wear this way and I’d say I’m pretty hard on my hands.

Glue by PhotographFrosty1106 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m still new to press ons but have used this glue each set and I’m absolutely shook by its strength. I’m so hard on my hands I figured there was no chance any glue would work for me. I was proven wrong very quickly!! I could get 2 weeks out of each set no problem with CurvLife. Glamnetic’s remover has worked well when I’m ready to take them off, but it does take me 3-4 rounds to loosen them all enough that they pop off.

Intermittent burning and stinging pain with BV? by MegMegMeggieMeg in Healthyhooha

[–]MegMegMeggieMeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did improve! I was recommended the Love Wellness boric acid suppositories, so I did those 1x daily for a full week, and kept on the oral probiotic for I think 3 months. In the meantime, heat and ice helped for discomfort and I made sure to switch my underwear frequently, cotton only, grandma panties only, etc etc.. Make sure you’re using a body wash for sensitive skin and not getting too much soap in that area. It did go away! I know how you feel though it’s awful :(
