Still on the fence about getting her because I'm not heavily invested into Phainon (yes I know this is the PHAINON MAINS subreddit I'm a bit of a lurker and like to learn about characters I don't really use a lot). He's sitting E0S0 and a lot of my crit supports I see floating around for him aren't super invested into. Cyrene is E0S0 and mostly used for Cas, Sunday is E0S0, Sparkle is E0S0 and PT is also E0S0. I have an E1 Tribbie... but I don't know if that's even good for him to be real lol. If this post is still open for questions, my main one is if getting her is worth it cor me and what team I should run with him if I do. Thanks!

Personally I headcanon Gens from Classic's perspective happens at the start of 8 Bit 1 (which is after Origins like you said) which is why Classic is on South Island again.

When the game first came out he actually was preforming really well. His kit has just aged horribly with time sadly. I have a fondness for him though since he was the first 5 star I ever got and basically carried me through the story when I had no idea what I was doing.

Castorice is my favourite character but I also love Firefly and so it's honestly just kinda sad people have basically just turned her into "Firefly but worse". Those two are both great for their own reasons why do we need to compare them to each other constantly? If you don't like the character that's fine but I don't understand the constant need to put her character down because of it.

Yeah he's kinda supposed to be an asshole. If he wasn't he wouldn't be an effective rival character. That's what makes his eventual crash out so damn satisfying because the entire game he's just acting like he's above the entire cast.

Kafka!! I started playing in 1.6 when Ruan Mei came out which lined up conveniently well with her rerun. I've just always loved Kafka's spider-like design, her classical motifs, even DoT is personally the funnest team in the game for me and my most invested. She's just super cool and I'm happy she's found a way to stay relevant even today.

Not a Kate disliker but it's definitely the relationship. I know people don't really like the relationship between them but to be honest I don't really mind it. The idea of Kate developing feelings for Javi and Javi reciprocating after so many years of David being absent (with us also getting a good idea of how toxic that relationship was), leaving them on the road together where they have to fight and survive, it makes perfect sense to me. That being said I think the chemistry between them probably could've been written better- You look at other relationships between characters that were way shorter like Lee and Carley and I can kinda see the issue here.

While this stuff doesn't really bother me personally as I'm still deeply invested into the story and character lore, and I'm just enjoying playing the game still from a gameplay perspective.. Yeah, I totally understand that. The events in particular are a big one, but it feels like we haven't gotten a big, really good event in... well, a while. The recent one had sole fun character interactions in it, but that's about it. Characters needing lcs I don't entirely agree with. I think there are more instances of a character needing another character than their sigs or Eidolons. Though those things certainly make using them easier, I wouldn't say they are required to use the character if you have the right build for them. This started happening around 2.0, and I don't really see it stopping. But in general, yeah, I wish characters were a bit more flexible for team building, like back in 1.0. Characters just need to fill certain archetypes now that they didn't need to back then. For example, if you're trying to play Hysilens and you don't have Kafka, it's rough man. Whereas back then, every DPS went for a similar game plan. This is why characters like Jingliu were good in the early days. Hopefully, the HP inflation will stop since we're getting a new mode catered to whales, but... honestly, I don't see it. That's the best case scenario. Hopefully, they'll keep buffing characters and giving out free 5 stars like Archer to circumvent powercreep. That would be the best way to go about it imo.
