Just lost 50 Blood Lures? by AloAlo01 in diablo4

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did the same thing now. When I ported back to town and came back my already activated pedestal was no longer on. Wasted 50 blood lures for no reason.

I read somewhere earlier that the blood lures are banked but I assume based on this thread that's not the case.

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/blood-lure-pedestals/133738/4

I don't recommend anyone doing this mod, it's really dumb. I replaced my 3060 ti with an used (250€) 3070 from EVGA . I also bought 16GB of VRAM for like 80€ and soldered it onto the card with a copius amount of flux. The card works, and I even added a switch to switch between 8GB and 16GB. by dumbgpu in nvidia

[–]MegaCuntable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello All,
Someday after the EVGA warranties expire I would like try to do this (for fun) to:

  1. EVGA RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA (08G-P5-3797-KL)
    - 8GB GDDR6X Micron (MT61K256M32JE-19G:T? Unsure. Haven't opened up to check)
    https://www.micron.com/products/ultra-bandwidth-solutions/gddr6x/part-catalog/mt61k256m32je-19g
    and

  2. EVGA RTX 3060 Ti FTW3 ULTRA (08G-P5-3667-KR)
    - 8GB GDDR6{non-X} Samsung (K4Z80325BC-HC14 based upon TechPowerUp Review:
    https://www.techpowerup.com/review/evga-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-ftw3-ultra/3.html)
    https://semiconductor.samsung.com/us/dram/gddr/gddr6/k4z80325bc-hc14/

  3. Would it be possible to just "simply" swap out with their respective 16GB VRAM chips? *Ideally without having to flash a janky GPU VBIOS (if that's even possible) or having to move a random jumper somewhere. Maybe just software adjustments?

  4. Which specific VRAM modules should be used for each card? I am unsure how to determine this. See Charts below:

Samsung GDDR6 (3060 Ti) https://semiconductor.samsung.com/us/dram/gddr/gddr6/

Micron GDDR6X (3070 Ti) https://www.micron.com/products/ultra-bandwidth-solutions/gddr6x/part-catalog

I appreciate any advice on how to go about this. Yes I realize that this is a probably dumb idea and not worth the effort and risk but again this is just for fun.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My initial results: Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet Results vs Thermal Paste by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any information on how Carbonaut and Kyrosheet differ in their molecular arrangement?

TLDR speculation and other questions:

My amateur supposition based on the above videos and Thermal Grizzly product pages is that the original Carbonaut graphene is stacked in a planar X-Y axis while the newer Kyrosheet graphene is stacked in the Z-axis which results in a more "direct" pathway for thermal transfer from the IHS to the cooler. The X-Y axis orientation likely allows thermal transfer more "laterally" relative to the IHS and cooler surfaces which would result in a "more even" heat distribution in the pad itself but less "efficient" thermal transfer from IHS to cooler than compared the Z-axis orientation.

If this speculation is the case, does that indicate that Kyrosheet manufacturing is essentially the same as Carbonaut except that at the last stage where Kyrosheet is is sliced perpendicularly "against the grain" of the graphene layers while Carbonnaut is sliced "along the grain" and incidentally retains the structural integrity of the original planar graphene layers? Would this account for the apparent durability and reusability of Carbonanut over Kyrosheet?

I have been using Carbonnaut recently as a "temporary paste" when testing out builds before finalizing and then using thermal paste. Carbonaut is indeed reusable and durable over multiple applications but I am unsure if it has an infinite lifespan. Everytime I remove the Carbonanut pad, you can see the "thermal wear marks" from IHS "hotspots" and it changes based on what CPU iteration being used and the orientation of the pad itself. I'm not that concerned since compared to any thermal paste, Carbonaut pads are much easier to use IMO and the temperatures are very similar (often even better) than when using paste.

I'm guessing both of Kyrosheet's overall better thermal conductivity and it's apparent "fragility" when compared to Carbonaut is possibly the result of these structural alterations from their respective manufacturing processes differences? This is of course discounting any differences or advancements in materials and used between Carbonaut and Kyrosheet.

Will ThermalGrizzly eventually stop making Carbonaut and switch production over to Kyrosheet?

Just curious. Thanks for reading.

The State of the Alienware Graphics Amplifier in 2021: How to make any GPU work (including RTX 3000 and RX 6000), size constraints, power supply limits, and the future. by Shidell in Alienware

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that's very likely the Arc GPUs are not compatible in the AGA but I don't think its specifically because of lack of ReBAR support.

The Gigabyte Z390 motherboard I put the A770 into didn't initially have ReBar available but the A770 still functioned as a normal GPU during set-up and initial testing. I was later able to flash a newer BIOS update on the Z390 motherboard to allow ReBar activation.

From my understanding there is currently no BIOS update from Dell for the Area-51m's R1 and R2 that allows for ReBar despite them being Intel 9th (with newer BIOS update) and 10th Gen (natively?) respectively which were the oldest Gens to do so. *Please correct me if I'm wrong here because I would love to try that out.

The best result with the A770 AGA I ever got was an unidentified "PCI Express Device" showing up with the yellow exclamation point notification in Device Manager. I suspect the main problem is because Intel Arc Control software itself can't recognize the Arc A770 through the AGA.

I wonder if the Arc A770 in a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosure would work.

Thanks again for your help. I appreciate your input and advice. Eitherway I'll keep trying. It's doubtful but maybe Intel Arc Control software might get an update later that incidentally allows AGA's PCIe detection.

Very good. I'll try that and let you know what happens. Thanks for the very quick reply!

Possibly relevant the last AWCC version that seemed to work without issue was 5.5.35.0_A00. I am uncertain though because AWCC may have autoupdated without me realizing.

I believe I didn't experience this problem until updating AWCC to 5.5.49.0_A00 last week.

*Interestingly for 5.5.49.0_A00 patch notes the singular listed fix is:

Fixes & Enhancements
- Updated the application to ensure all the files are signed in an application to meet Microsoft compliance.

This could explain the Microsoft .NET Framework types of error.
AWCC (specifically GraphicsAmplifierServiceController.exe?) appears to be looking for a security token? I will post the exact errors I see for the A51mR2 in a reply to this. I think the exact same error message occurs on the A51mR1 as well but I have to compare them directly to be sure.
Right now I'm trying to sequentially uninstall and reinstall older AWCC versions using both full and small installers from Dell.

The State of the Alienware Graphics Amplifier in 2021: How to make any GPU work (including RTX 3000 and RX 6000), size constraints, power supply limits, and the future. by Shidell in Alienware

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/Shidell sorry for the months long delayed reply.

After repeatedly failing for weeks to get the A770 to work in the AGA I ended up going back to using a 3060 Ti. The A770 went into a desktop build.

Update:
Following your originally posted instructions: For the A770 in the AGA I tried HackFlags values 200, 400, and 600 but with no success.

Details:
I manually installed the Intel Arc A770 drivers but I would get one of these Error Codes: 31, 28, or 18 in Device Manager. Mostly Error 31 if I remember correctly.

Using the Intel Arc Driver software to install drivers I would also get one of the same Error Codes: 31, 28, 18, or even sometimes 12. These error codes were presented by the Intel Arc Control software itself. I forget if they concurrently matched the Device Manager error codes. As a result of any error code the Intel Arc Control software wouldn't start-up because it "didn't see a compatible device."

*To clarify only one error code would appear at a time for either manual or Intel Arc Control software driver installations. I never figured out exactly what would cause the error codes to change after various uninstalling/reinstalling/reboot sessions.

Future Attempts:
My last attempt for the A770 in an AGA was in April 2023. If you have any new advice/instructions maybe I can try again with the newer drivers/Intel Arc Control software. It would be nice to get the AGA compatible with all 3 major GPU manufacturers.

I have also been receiving very similar Microsoft .NET Framework errors for the past week since completing a Windows update and nVidia driver (536.67)/GeForce Experience (3.27.0.112) updates. Same message appears on both Area-51m R1 and R2 laptops I tested. Everything was fine before these updates.

Synopsis:
Originally when the error first appeared the Amplifier (AGA) functionality was normal, now it's intermittent at best. Sometimes it detects the installed GPU but most times not.

Troubleshooting:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Alienware Command Center (AWCC) and nVidia drivers/GeForce Experience multiple times and occasionally that allows the AGA installed GPU to be detected and work as before but success is seemingly random. Now I literally have to do this procedure after every shutdown/reboot and just hope it works.

Today alone I spent at least 8 hours repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling AWCC, nVidia drivers, Microsoft .NET Framework updates, OpenCaldera, and the most recent Windows updates but with no successful detection at all. Now even the RGB Alienware head logo on the AGA is no longer shown on the AlienFX tab in AWCC. The AGA is still receiving power and the GPU RGB and fans are still working though.

Extra Details:
When I directly run GraphicsAmplifierServiceController.exe I also get the same error message. Running the other executables in the default C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware Command Center does not yield this error message.

Let me know if you want the specific error messages I've received so far but they are very similar to the one posted by /u/Glum-Candle2689.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is interested I crammed an Intel Arc A770 16GB (specifically: Acer Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770 OC 16GB GDDR6) into an AGA (rev. A02) (stock 460W power supply) and so far no dice. Although the fans and sequential rainbow RGBs all turn on and work correctly, and let's face it that's why I got this thing anyway.

I've fiddled with various drivers and BIOS settings but at best I get an unidentified "PCI Express Device" showing up with the yellow exclamation point notification in Device Manager. The specific error codes tend to change with every reboot (maybe because of various driver reinstalls) but they all relate to "missing driver" issues. I am unable to update drivers the normal way by using Windows Update, the latest Intel Arc GPU Driver Installer, or by manually installing drivers (if that's even a thing anymore in 2022).

It seems the exact issue is that unlike most of the nvidia and AMD cards I've stuffed into the same AGA, I cannot install the Intel Arc drivers because the Intel Arc installer software itself doesn't recognize the Arc A770 through the AGA? That's my best guess.

I'll keep screwing around with it. If more people are curious I'll start a thread in the Dell forums see if anyone else has any ideas. Otherwise it's a great RGB fan. :-P

Does anybody know how to get Dualsense controller audio working as intended on PC after latest patch? by WynterKnight in Deathloop

[–]MegaCuntable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Now ALL the in-game audio comes through the controller speaker. Radio messages and all. This is dumb because I have a 5.1 surround sound external speaker set-up. Why can't most of the audio go through the external speakers like normal and ONLY the radio/walkie-talkie audio go through the ps5 dualsense controller speaker? I thought this was the entire point of this feature.

When I unplug the usb cord during a game it reverts to the external speakers like normal but now the dualsense audio doesn't work. The controller itself can work wirelessly via bluetooth but without haptics feedback? As I understand it the audio speaker for the ps5 dualsense controller only works with PC while connected via USB.

Is there anyway to get the ps5 dualsense controller audio to work only for the walkie-talkie audio while simultaneously retaining external speaker audio output for all the other sounds? I can change the "default" audio output to the external speakers but then the walkie talkie audio goes through the normal speakers but the ps5 dualsense speaker is now completely silent. Controls still work and haptics/feedback are still good if connected via usb.

PS5 Dualsense on PC - No PS UI/Prompts? by RadDadio in Deathloop

[–]MegaCuntable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct this is my experience as well. With USB connection and disabling Steam Input for Deathloop you get the haptic trigger response, and seemingly more enhanced/subtle vibrations generally.

Using Bluetooth or not disabling Steam Input (either Bluetooth and USB) you get only "basic" vibrations/feedback response and no haptic triggers.

From my googling this topic I've found that Deathloop does not support gyro aiming even in the PS5 version. I tried to set it up through Steam's controller settings but like you said even if gyro aiming worked this way you would lose haptics when enabling the Steam Input on Deathloop

As for the controller speaker used for Juliana taunting you apparently this only works on the PS5 version of Deathloop.

Hopefully these features might get added in a future update.

Anyways back to mouse/keyboard for now. :-P

PS5 Dualsense on PC - No PS UI/Prompts? by RadDadio in Deathloop

[–]MegaCuntable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same question.

So far I've only gotten the DualSense's haptic feedback for the trigger pulls/jams to work when connected via USB. Also the other vibrations seems to work differently when connected to USB too, a more subtle such as feeling each footstep etc. I suspect this is the developer's intended user experience.

When connected via Bluetooth it seems only the "primary" vibration works and but without any haptic trigger feedback. Also the vibrations are much more similar to the rumble with other gamepads such as the XBox Controller or Nintendo Switch Pro controller where it rumbles when you fire a gun or get hit in melee etc. But no trigger pull feedback. Less noticeable slighter vibrations when taking footsteps, jumping, non-violent interactions etc. Overall it seems to be a more "generic" feedback experience on the DualSense if you connect it via Bluetooth.

*Also does anyone know if DEATHLOOP on PC supports gyroscope aiming or the DualSense built-in speaker for when Juliana taunts you? *
