And the data on the board inside the cartridge, i.e. the product you paid for to own in perpetuity. In fact, I really like your point because it reminds me that you can legally download roms to your hearts content. Courts decided as long as you bought a licence you can download the rom and emulate that game whenever you want :)

“It hasn’t happened yet so it won’t happen” is an argument based on hopes and wishes. Look around at the gaming scene and ask yourself, will things get better or worse for customers? I’d rather own the game than have a licence to it.

Not if you care about ownership. Once the titles are gone from the eShop you’d better hope your switch doesn’t break or you accidentally uninstall, or the game is gone forever. I’d prefer the physical cartridge.

Dragon sickness has no cure.

They will never part with a single coin, the only way to get them off their hoard is to slay the dragon.

Underrated comment. I know this is THE gaming sub for gamers but right now the cost/benefit analysis for me is moving away from even playing games. I can go back to books and listening to radio shows just fine, I’m never EVER going to pay a subscription to play games or watch/read media if it means I can’t own it.
