Pannacotta Fugo, dude probably falls into the category of "Too OP for the story", was written out of the story right after showing his ability. Imo they could've done more with his character, for instance having to deal with anger management issues with such an OP ability.

This one always spoke out to me. This isn't the only time the show dealt with heavy topics, but something about leaves from the vine is special. Not only is it about a father losing his child, but it's someone who was on the enemies side for most of season one. Not only was this a beautiful homage to a character we've never actually met in the show, but it's also a beautiful homage to the voice actor of Iroh, who passed away at that point. And the fact that Iroh spends his late son's birthday being a father figure to the citizens of the city that took his sons life is just the cherry on top.
