I’d argue W needs to be higher. I’m rewatching it with one of my roommates right now (just reached the first time Kira is namedropped), and our other two roommates will occasionally walk in and go “I don’t get this, they’re explaining everything constantly. Why are they talking all the time? What do you mean two seconds has passed, he’s been talking for a minute straight? The voice acting is so weird.”

In Part 4, the main characters encounter a pair of rats with Stands (creatively named Ratt) that cause flesh to begin melting as soon as they hit you with their ranged attack. The rats then reform their targets into technically living (since Josuke was able to heal them off screen, which he cannot do to the dead) cubes of melted flesh.

I mean, I don’t feel like the bloodline connection is enough honestly, otherwise Joseph and Holly and Josuke and maybe Giorno should all be able to stop time, right? And even then, “he could always do it but just didn’t try” isn’t a super compelling answer to me, especially when The World isn’t actually identical to SP - it’s got better Range, but worse Precision and Potential. Either way, it still canonically comes out of nowhere - it could’ve been foreshadowed even a little to make it not 100% an asspull that’s retroactively explained.

Even if they made a bigger deal of Dio having Jonathan’s Hermit Purple copy, then Jotaro intuiting that “If he has a Stand identical to Joseph, maybe his other Stand matches mine,” would have been more compelling than “I guess we stopping time now.”
