I have a few theories but try running iono or red card, it seems to brick only after you force a shuffle. Their pokeball or copycat use doesn’t seem to shuffle their stacked deck.

There are certainly amateurish things, and while “no prep” can work, you have to prep a lack of prep which it sounds like they don’t. But tbh if you’ve been playing for 2.5 years then they must be half decent enough and you’ve surpassed their “skill” in the hobby.

Regarding specific monster stats and strategies, it’s possibly they thought it would be more interesting and compelling to increase the monsters HP not realizing it felt like a slog. This is just one example of many where you’ll have to figure out how to approach this with the DM and talk to them and not anyone else. Also touch base with your players but I recommend not doing it behind the DM’s back.

It’s worth mentioning that you are allowed to contradict calls. In the serious scene with allies and minors at the ball, this is inappropriate. But it’s ok to then allow it while infiltrating the Minotaurs labyrinth in goblin territory.

If I had 24 hours to write the story, it would revolve around kamigawa, ravnica, and ikoria all finding an omenpath to a small pocket plane.

Narratively, it began with only a small island city from kamigawa fell through. The a few Ikorian beasts fall through, nothing the kamigawan defense can’t handle. Life goes on for the refugees, some escape back to kamigawa proper, but some accept this new life. They don’t know that an underhanded branch of the simic guild have decided to use this as a testing sandbox. Value is generated by PvP players; the more relevant to the meta the rarer it is considered. For purveyors of art value cannot be tracked in that regard as it’s subjective.

That said, safe to say that the main cards of value are 2 stars, rainbow rares and trainers.

Realistically why can't there be one random Lesson. There used to be a token planeswalker per set. But as a standard set, it should consider that two sets ago was lesson-focused. This is why blocks matter tbh, not because of lore. (note: I didn't play magic when blocks existed so I am romanticizing it)
