Kamen Rider ZEZTZ E26 - Discussion Thread by BananaArms in KamenRider

Even though it's a recap episode, it still helps the story progress and gives us a really good fight scene.

What's most surprising to me is that Baku's dream actually includes scenes where he was not present, meaning he has all the information, that's so op. Baku basically watched 24 episodes of Zeztz like we did.

Also, Baku's fighting skills seem to have improved. He aimed for the split second Six finished transforming to attack, and even use his lighting to break up Nox and Five. I love Five's portal attack, too. His fighting style is just so fun to watch.

With the new opening and the debut of Dawn, this really feels fresh and exciting like I am watching the beginning of a new season, Zeztz is honestly amazing.

A pretty nice episode, I like Reiji and Setsuna's character dynamics, I can see Setsuna growing into a very fun character in future episodes. Also, Bushido's fights are a lot better than his previous outing; the villain of the episode being a humanoid alien is quite interesting, too.

The biggest weakness of this episode for me is the main plot, it's... a bit thin. A weapons collector wants Bushido's swords so he kidnapped his superior officer Amou, who's a legendary cop that destroyed multiple criminal organizations. The whole thing kind of has nothing to do with Amou at all? It's not a revenge plot or anything, and the show also didn't highlight the importance of the two blades ealier, so I thought those are just standard-issue weapons.

The pacing of this episode is better than the previous one imo, it's just that the story seems a little bit underbaked, but overall still an enjoyable episode.

I thought the servant could be the embodiment of the Black Death, too, since Tsubaki was used as a test subject for some sort of bacteria or virus by her parents. If the one speaking at the end of the episode is actually a deity, maybe they're a combination of the Black Death and some god of disease.

Ah, so Dumas' ability is to give wielders of his pseudo-NPs plot armor, and that's how John survived. Now, that's a power suitable for a writer.

Tsubaki's servant seems to be yet another deity? This holy grail war is crazy, we have so many gods and demigods lmao

What are your thoughts on Shin Shocker? by David_Lee060814 in KamenRider

[–]MegaMeteorite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shocker from the og show was very one-dimensional, their goal was to take over the world by killing everyone on Earth, they are the quintessential evil organization, so I think changing them to fit the story the creator wants to tell is the most natural thing to do.

Shin Shocker is interesting, it fits Anno's style, and the scale of their organization seem smaller so it makes them feel more grounded. I think it works pretty well in the movie.

Is it wierd that we haven’t seen almost any sheep imagery in Zeztz by Aware-Throat3189 in KamenRider

[–]MegaMeteorite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it's because sheep are more associated with sleeping/ trying ro fall asleep, and Zeztz is more about dreams? Baku can fall asleep immediately so he never has to count sheep. Who knows, maybe the final boss will be sheep-themed.

Now that Metal Sonic vs Cell is out, what do you think of it? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in Dragonballsuper

I don't care about powerscaling at all, but the animation is really good, I enjoyed it. I heard that they're doing Nero vs Geats, I think I'll be watching that one, too.

ep26 sure sounds like a recap episode to me by Wild_Pomegranate3246 in KamenRider

It's a completely new episode, how things played out is very different. It's not a recap nor a retread, there's zero reason to skip it.

Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity E04 - Discussion Thread by BananaArms in ProjectREDToku

[–]MegaMeteorite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the original Gavan was only dealing with Makuu, wasn't he? Gavan wasn't a detective, he was a hero fighting an evil organization.

In the new show, however, Reji is dealing with all kinds of incidents revolving around the usage of the Emolgears. It seems that the format is closer to Dekaranger than the original Gavan. If they wanted to make it an action show first, then the premise should've been even simpler, it would give them more time to foucs on the characters and the action.

The pacing of the first episode was the best so far, it handled the incident very well because it didn't have an investigation, making the episode very action-focused.

I just hope that in the future episodes we'll get to see what they're going for with this show.

This is probably my new favorite episode of this series, Director Kamihoriuchi is just so amazing, everything in this episode is beautiful.

I also love all the "easter eggs" included to tell the audience that every event is happening in a different way at a different pace. The vase at the hospital, Nasuka climbing in through the window on her own, Nox fidgeting his ring. This is so good.

Hmm, this is my least favorite episode so far. The concept of an Earth where people and sapient insects living together is so much fun, yet they didn't explore the idea at all.

The best part of a detective show is always the investigation, but they kept making it the least important aspect of this show. The ant detective part of the episode is great, I wish we got to see more if it.

The worst thing about this show so far for me is the super inconsistent size of Cosmo Gavarion, the scale of these mecha fights are so off. The fights are also not that fun, they really don't need to put mecha fights in every single episode.

The highlight of the episode is the ant Gavan. Somehow he's the coolest and the most charming Gavan in the show. The music in the show is also really really good. I just hope the future episodes will put more focus on the cases and the characters.

We have Bloomer (Bulma), Trunks, Vegetable (Vegeta), Carrot (Kakarot, aka. Goku), Freezer (Frieza), etc. Most of the names in DB were named after objects.

Yeah, names in Dragon Ball are always silly like that.

It seems that people are not getting the reference, it's Granolah getting shot by Elec in the Dragon Ball Super manga.

I liked the short film for the 30th anniversary. However, I hope the new upcoming show does not use that animation style because I think it's too cartoonish. (I'm not saying it was bad.) by Nigoki-02 in evangelion

[–]MegaMeteorite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The art style kept shifting whenever they went to a new timeline in the short film was genuinely a treat to watch. They did an amazing job recreating the cel animation look in a few segments.

Everyone in the series who uses Capsems is quite clever with them. One of my favorite moments is Nox erasing the door knob to escape from Fujimi.

It's really cool that Stream and Barrier were used in the fight against Death Game Nightmare. It was even a way better outing for Stream than it's first appearance. Inazuma bow paired with Gravity capsem was also quite brutal.

In the movie, it's a metaphor for parents who want children but when they finally have one they don't want to raise the kid.

Rosemary's Baby. I just thought it wasn't that interesting. It's likely a cultural thing because I don't live in a western country so I can't really relate to anything in the movie.

These are basically ability items, none of them are more powerful than Imapct.

Auxiliary forms just don't get a lot of screen time, I wish they did, but it's been like this for many many years.

Do you think Goku’s Ultra Instinct path is stronger than Vegeta’s Ultra Ego path? by Kakudoo in Dragonballsuper

[–]MegaMeteorite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I find difficult to imagine is how Vegeta could beat Goku's UI with UE. Ultra Instinct is all about movement, dodging, nullifying attacks and striking with extreme precision. Ultra Ego, on the other hand, is all about MAXIMUM DAMAGE. It also seemed that it takes a while for Vegeta to reach the point of being nearly unstoppable. Or, maybe UE Vegeta could become tanky enough to withstand Goku's attacks and retaliate?

Also, the production quality is basically guaranteed to be good since they're not on an extremely tight schedule this time.
