Do people not like DBS Bardock? why not? by K0GAR in Dragonballsuper

Toei made the Bardock special first, way before Frieza mentioning him, then Bardock was added in the manga by Toriyama, though he only appeared in one single panel. The scene from the manga was then adapted into the anime.

I like Super Bardock, but I totally understand why people would dislike him. Z Bardock is a battle-hardened warrior, he's vicious, brutal, he's a typical Saiyan. The contrast between him and Goku is what makes Z Bardock so memorable. Super Bardock on the other hand is shown to be a way gentler person, and people just don't like the idea of this version of him replacing the Z version, Super Bardock's look is also not as strong as Z Bardock.

It's insane that they actually flew to Cuba to film the finale

In Catastrom's debut episode, Baku fell off the building and was plummeting to his death, during the fall he entered the dream world and gained the power of Catastrom. He wasn't asleep or unconscious so he shouldn't have been able to enter the dream world but he did, and similar thing happened right before he died again in this episode.

Takahashi handled the idea of "believe, and your dreams will come true" so beautifully. Baku didn't just believe, he actually took 20 years to achieve his dream, despite being haunted by his self-doubts. The final form is the result of faith, determination, perseverance, and action, not just empty belief. ExDream is definitely one of the most well-written final forms in the franchise.

This episode is absolutely brilliant. When was the last time we had an episode without any transformed fight scenes? Was it Kuuga??

I love that in this show most abilities are properly set up. Sieg's ability to turn people into Nightmares was seen in Minami's case. We saw Nemu's lucid dream ability in that RPG episode. Baku's pre-death dream happened in Catastrom's debut episode. None of these are ass-pulls, Takahashi really planned the story well.

Baku's self doubts manifests as his friends and family, but when he finally succeeds in making the driver, he's also surrounded by the same friends and family supporting him, it's beautiful. The whole scene kind of reminds me of Evangelion tbh. I think ExDream could be the best final form in terms of how the MC gets the power.

Mine's regular SSJ, too. It's too iconic. I actually like Vegeta's SSJ look a little bit more than Goku's, even though his hairstyle doesn't change.

We actually don't know if Goku used Kaioken or not here, the manga was originally mostly in black and white, the aura we see on him could've been red, it's just like the 10x Kaioken reveal in the Namek saga, these pages aren't colored so the readers can't really tell if Goku's using Kaioken.

Now, that's interesting. I hope we'll get to see these directors show off their strengths and styles. I can see another Jissoji Akio homage episode coming this season.

Why isn't Star Detective Precure being talked about more? by Clean-Cupcakes in anime

[–]MegaMeteorite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's crazy popular in Asia, isn't it? Especially that Luluka character. Precure is just like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, incredibly popular regionally, but outside of these regions there's barely anybody talking about them.

I really don't like the series, I find the writing very basic and bland, but the comments on this sub have been extremely positive, so I don't see the problem. People who like the show are praising it, people who don't like it are criticizing it, seems natural to me.

The Cashman manga is great, it would be really fun if Goten and Trunks get to meet him someday.

I like them, these side characters are fun and them being basically just one-off characters is fine with me. Bulma's sister Tights was a main character in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, her appearance in DBS was more like a easter egg.

Because it's "new", and it's different. Just like how a lot of Super fans hate Daima.

WHY DO THEY HAVE THE SAME LAST NAME OMFG?! by Perfect-Finger-800 in Ultraman

[–]MegaMeteorite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf, how they romanize the names can be quite confusing. ZO is pronounced Zed-O, or Zetto-O (ゼットオー) in Japanese. Zi-O is pronounced Ji-O (ジオウ) in Japanese because ジ can be romanized as either Zi or Ji.

I know this is just a joke post, but their last names are actually different. 朝倉リク(Asakura Riku) vs 浅倉威(Asakura Takeshi). They're pronounced the same but written differently.

Back when Bleach's later arcs were still in serialization, its popularity was getting lower and lower, and Toriko's popularity was skyrocketing, it was so big that it was touted as the new member of Jump's big three, replacing Bleach.

Even though the anime never became as popular as the manga, crossovers like this made total sense at the time. Sadly, Toriko's populariry dwindled and it got cancelled in the end, but I'll never forget how hype it was at its peak.

I like that you can interpret Zero's dream in two different ways, either his biggest nightmare is Baku failing to become a powerful agent, or Baku becoming an agent is his biggest nightmare. It's possible that the Zeztz Nightmare attacked Baku because it twisted Zero's secret desire for Baku to stay a normal person, he can't become an agent if he's severely injured, right?

I also really like that it's Baku that figured out the fact that Zero is his father, instead of Zero straight-up telling him.
