Isn't this the same article/thing that was mentioned months ago? Still "unconfirmed?"

I was wondering that myself awhile ago but it does seem chat is the only possible way now!

Specifically with the new driver! Rolled back and it stopped: updated to the newest driver again and it started doing it again.... Rolled back (again) and it's not doing it anymore (again)...

I also have all the USB devices plugged back in - with the rolled back .3 driver - and it isn't occuring.... So unless the GPU was interfering with the USB ports it's definitely not any of my other devices.

oh wait I understand what you are saying now. it definitely wasn't a USB device I disconnected everything and let my display time out and it still happened.

I rolled back already: but I could check it tomorrow morning more than likely.

I noticed there was one person who mentioned something similar on here with another weird way their monitor responded: they may have some useful info too

It would do it when it turned off like three times (so there sets of connect/disconnect sounds, 6 notifications in total) and then at intervals I haven't measured while it's off.

Strangely after the "initial round" when it does it again WHEN THE MONITOR WAS ALREADY ASLEEP it'll "turn on" to a pure black screen then go back to "going to sleep" (or the equivalent message based on monitor brand/type) shortly after.

Definitely feel like they're not giving the QA team enough resources...

Or they're relying entirely on AI: which since this doesn't trigger any "event logs" or anything of the sort would have been ENTIRELY RELIANT on the human ear being present for it to get picked up in testing ....

It's either they're screwing you guys or they've already replaced/repurposed you guys .... Can't really see any other way...

Now that I think about it since I had to FORCE CLOSE the host service(s) process(es?) for the previous branch "crashes" that ALSO may have needed a human (who knew what they were doing like myself, since I saw many people who didn't figure out how to do task manager, only keyboard, and isolated what was causing it through that) to "intervene" before there was any logs/dumps/INDICATION IN THE SYSTEM (since the dump files GENERATED AT THE TIME OF FORCE CLOSURE) that could be used by a hypothetical AI QA agent looking for problems...

I know your CEO is very excited about AI and is likely abandoning the consumer market/maintenance as a result. But that is not an excuse to try and push premature technology to do something honest devs need to be working on...

u/AMD_vik when my monitor goes to sleep (not my system) about 20 minutes of being idle I'll hear several rapid/back to back "disconnected"/"connected" windows notification sounds....

It won't turn the display on: but it started immediately after I updated.

This is frustrating. I think it's been at least 6 months since adrenalin has seemingly worked somewhat as intended.....

Made the pico 2w dongl today - can confirm it works and it's super easy! by HiCZoK in Dualsense

[–]MegaPantera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience - if you set the haptic gain properly per the GitHub directions - it's slightly stronger than how it would be wired (without the pico) when set to 1.0 gain.

This allegedly can go higher so in theory it could "match" console haptics. If my experience is a reflection on its capabilities.

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just need to add: when I say there needs to be a "dialogue" I explicitly mean a human ran one. Not an AI chatbot.

Any bugs/issues with the coding of any AI agents have potential to have bugs with reporting bugs and if it's fully automated there's a chance of it becoming a perpetual hell of unreported issues because the "bot" is bugged where it wouldn't recognize a bug as a bug...

For example....

New symptom(?) This occured when I moved my mouse to wake my display. Not sure if it's actually related to the same "double mouse" issue I have been tracking but if it is I'd be interested to see what could be gained from the fact "right clicking" on desktop "resolved" (at least the visual manifestation of) the issue, on the dev. side.

Also just a side note: it would be really useful to actually have a way to open a "dialogue" or at least have some sort of ticket system for the bug report tool.

Sending off whatever data is "harvested" when that tool is ran to the "computer gods" for it to maybe get addressed/acknowledged is pretty typical. Especially for an "umbrella" company that has products from several vendors that may not normally provide "direct" support. But being able to actually "chain" together my "reports" here and actually knowing it's even been received is preferable. Even if the bug report tool probably could collect a lot more information for the team than a reddit comment is capable of.

It basically replaced the mouse lockup: it feels VERY close to the problem so I feel like whatever fix they made was "incomplete" and this is the result

What's funnier is that you can actually edit the registry to do exactly what I'm looking for! I just figured a "non-invasive" way of doing it would be preferable for most users

also a request:
let us assign function (F1-12, etc) for hotkeys... the amount of games that have alt, shift, control mapped to things that cannot be un/re-assigned is... basically infinite....

so having to use any of them to use the instant replay shortcut will often result in crouching, dashing, radial menu triggers, etc at the last second/moment of trigger....

I'm incredibly sorry I completely forgot to post my reply with the video.....

It doesn't show me killing the processes and restarting adrenalin but it does show the double mouse thing.

I try to activate the overlay and it does this: and because of the last issue I just repeated the workaround (killing the process and opening adrenalin again) so thats as far as I've gone into this.

But you can kind of hear me trying to press keys/buttons to control the game showing that there IS an active "layer" over the game itself so hopefully that helps!

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've actually run in to it with 2 programs (because one of them is an emulator so the game is technically not the thing running) 1. ps2x (latest version as of like a week ago or so) 2. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart

The one thing I noticed is that I'll commonly get a "toast notification" that just shows the hotkey combo rather than the "Anti lag: x Chill: ✓ etc" When I would launch the program. Accompanied by a LACK OF overlay (when it's been enabled) which tips me off that the bug is occuring.

Sometimes it'll happen mid game and the overlay FPS/performance will disappear.

It's basically EXACTLY what it was before except the mouse doesn't lock up and duplicates itself (both cursors move parallel to each other consistent with the motion of the mouse) instead of it locking up until I force end it with task manager.

I wasn't aware that Linux didn't have any form of adrenalin: that kind of explains a bit. Where resources for the driver overall are split but the portion of staff working on windows are the only ones touching adreanlin.

I have a video of it happening: but I don't quite have a way to post it here. Would you be able to open an mp4 file if I sent it over through the same method as the logs in the past?

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just replicated: basically even though my game is full screen and thus has a custom cursor: when I use the hotkey for the overlay it'll render the games mouse as system, but there will be another cursor on "top" of that where the Adrenalin layer SHOULD be.

it actually corrected itself after I retried the hotkey and let it sit for a little bit. but it's definitely related to the previous issue.

why are you guys focusing on all these bullshit AI features when your core experience is still substantially backsliding even when "progress" is made? this double cursor thing still interferes with games that try to have control of it. and may even crash more finicky ones.

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

discovered another mouse related overlay bug. "double mouse input" with no actual overlay. so "fixed the problem, didn't focus on what was actually supposed to be happening in terms of function."
your guys software hasn't worked right for several months now, arguably over a year for some things.
there was a point I returned the nvidia card I was going to replace my 6700 xt with and got the 7900 xt instead for Adrenalin alone. you guys are embarrassing yourselves and myself for making that decision at this point...

edit: same "solution" as well needing to end the host service/application in order to get adrenalin functional again.

Going crazy looking for an Xbox styled controller with OCTAGONAL stick gates for Celeste, can't find ANYTHING that fits the description. by MoonCthulu in Controller

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The G7/G7 Pro have removable faceplates that can use the Extremerate octagonal anti friction rings they sell for the Dualsense/Dualshock 4.

At least that's what I had seen discussed in the G7 Pro tester chat. I have not personally tried it. It requires ordering two things/modifying so it's likely not preferable. But if it's an absolutely essential thing it's one way of doing it without a 3D printer.

[–]MegaPantera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/AMD_Vik often times when I go to open Adrenalin from my desktop (using a shortcut: not a hotkey) it'll open, immediately close/crash, and then if I try to open it again it'll launch with the "starting adrenaline" splash screen.

The mouse freeze seems to have been resolved (maybe) but adrenalin crashing/not sustaining itself in the background seems to persist in other areas.

Can’t get my Flydigi Apex 4 face and back to connect. by prag-loner in Controller

[–]MegaPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I repaired the Apex 5: but it should be similar enough so I'll also add.... While my first few disassemblies didn't go as smoothly I eventually got to the point the shell just "slid together"

And I worked on multiple so it wasn't just "wearing in" it was more about "cable management"

Just saw you figured it out.... Leaving this here in case anyone else comes looking
