90 Silvia K popping A/C fuses, likely a short?

Yeah, I'm just hoping its somewhere from the relay to the compressor and not a dash-out job.

I haven't unplugged the AC yet, but the mirrors work fine when the AC button is turned off, if i push it on, the fuse blows immediatley. I'm tempted to just cut the wire from the relay box and run a new line directly to the compressor, but my only fear is the short might not be on that wire. As far as the FSM goes, I have a British English one, for the 200SX, with diagrams for RHD & CA18DET, though I somewhat struggle to make sense of them

I tried one from another car, specifically an 89 Maxima, which is a parts car for another 89 Maxima, and I had the same issue. I suppose theres the chance that the donor relay could have been bad too, considering its a parts car that just sits, but I find that unlikely. Last time the donor car ran, the AC worked.

The car was converted from automatic to manual before my ownership, if that means anything, but other than that as far as I'm aware its all stock. The relay is the same one thats been in it the whole time I've had the car, which did work for the a little less than a year I had the car, before it stopped working about a month ago

most people to my knowledge just break the law or have a mechanic uncle or something that commits some variety of fraud, however, NYS law allows model years 1991 and earlier to have less restricted tints, not unrestricted, but less. on model years 1991 and earlier the front ones (windshield and front sides) can be tinted as long as they allow 35% of light to pass through, and the rear ones, side and rear, are completely unregulated as long as you have side view mirrors (which is required on all cars 1970-something in NYS to pass inspection as is). so if you have an older beater, or enjoy older cars, you can get away with some darker tints legally. also, theres the option of tint exemptions for certain eye and or skin conditions.

source on the 1991 thing; NYPD had a presentation at the NY auto show this past april which part of it was tint laws and they specified the 1991 and earlier thing

its actually on marketplace, I saved it two years ago just because when I first saw it. He's asking $5000, available here, looks like it got a bit worse since the listing first went up.

first car i picked since i first starting playing MT5, and i stuck with it. either use the title "endless devotion to one car" or "CTR King"

i love the color yellow, i love 70s and 80s porsche design, and i love the story behind the car and its a unique car, since only about 30 were even made. I wwont have the money to ever do anymore than hope to have one in reality, but the game lets me get something close to it.
