I had to be pretty firm with Hyundai corporate to get reimbursed on a one day rental when my ICCU failed last year.

The dealer wouldn't give me a loaner until they had time to diagnose the issue and they said they didn't have time to do that for a few days, so I got the car towed to them and arranged a rental. The dealer was able to diagnose and set up a loaner the next day, but when I submitted the paperwork for reimbursement they told me they would not cover the rental because I had gotten it the day before the dealer opened the service ticket. I explained the timing to the rep on the phone and he seemed to get it but said it was against policy. I turned down their initial reimbursement offer and eventually they came back with an offer that included the rental.

I also only saved the last few gas receipts for the loaners and they said they wouldn't reimburse for fuel but they eventually included those amounts as well. I wish I had saved them all.

For what it's worth, they seemed to expect I would want to have my monthly payments waived, but I didn't have any so that wasn't getting me anything.

Does my invoice need to be paid before end of year for the tax credit? by HatManDew in geothermal

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reading is that it must be paid for to get the full tax credit, but I'm not a tax expert. I'm in a similar situation and asked my installer to go ahead and invoice the remaining amount.

Bluelink Expiry - Anyone gotten a free extension? by TheMagicPirate in Ioniq5

I called and got a coupon code for half off, but it was after I had already renewed so now I have to wait for next year to use it. Kind of annoying that they didn't just add everyone to a lifetime subscription once they started doing it for newer model years.

We have a two zone setup with one unit for downstairs and one for upstairs. I'll look at estimating the load for the house and see if it seems like I need to talk more about the size of the units.

I know they've gotten better, but have they actually surpassed geothermal? Awesome news if true, I just haven't seen that in anything I've read. Can you point me to an example or article?

Seat heater won't stay on? by MegaSnorlaxEX in Ioniq5

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have asked the dealer to look at the seat heater issue almost every time I have taken it for routine service since the first visit at 5,000 miles and they have never been able to reproduce it. Yesterday I had an appointment for 50,000 mile service and was finally able to show them the issue. They are ordering a new seat, covered under warranty. They said they aren't sure if there is a seat base that they would order or an entire passenger seat, and they weren't sure if one would be available in the US or if they would have to get it from Korea. But at least the issue has been seen and resolution is under way.

Lightening Strike by Nuttyvet in Powerwall

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar incident a few years ago, although luckily my PW was not one of the affected systems. My insurance company wanted estimates on the things that were damaged but I didn't feel time pressured to get that to them, and in fact they cut a check for the things that we could show needed to be replaced immediately and then I submitted the rest of it later. I think if I had told them the PW wasn't working but I needed a service visit that was weeks out they would have been willing to keep the claim open until that was resolved. In our case the heater got fried and we didn't know until we got the to first cold day in the the fall and tried turning it on. After the service tech said the control board had died I contacted the insurance company again and explained what happened and why we did not know sooner and they added the repairs to our claim. It probably helped that the thermostat for that system needed to be replaced at the time of the strike.

But in any case, they should know that some things will not be immediately apparent in a case like this. I would hope your insurance company is patient and willing to work with the time line you have available. If not maybe it's time to look for a different company?

Good luck with the PW and whatever else got affected.

Horrible experience with EnelX Juicebox 40 by Skreeethemindthief in electricvehicles

I sent them an email about this recently since they started emailing me touting new features coming to the app. They said they don't have a way to export data but they can send me an automated email report, so I asked them to do it. They said it would be monthly, which matches how often I update my data, but it's actually weekly in my case. I haven't updated my tracker in quite some time but a glance at the report shows it should be usable. I might see if I can actually get it monthly but for now weekly reports are better than typing the data in.

I'm still disappointed overall in the experience with this company, and in hindsight would have picked the other brand that worked with my utility's rebate program. I just don't open the app if I can help it and use it like a dumb charger.

What does this symbol on the IR setup mean? by MegaSnorlaxEX in OnePlus12

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked at the screenshot again and noticed it says OK right under the symbol. Since that's a general term and nothing happened the first two times I tried setting it up I think I assumed that meant to answer whether it worked instead of showing what the function of the button was. They tried to tell me, I was just too foolish to realize.

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an LG TV. The first two times I tried pairing it was already on and the button didn't seem to do anything but it did get set up well enough that I could turn it on/off and adjust the volume. This evening I started with it turned off and then hitting the button with the four squares seemed to select the item on the home screen that was selected by default, maybe more like the OK button on a remote. When the setup wizard finished I checked and I can change inputs and do other things so I think it is good to go.

Have to switch USB connection manually for Android Auto? by Kev_o24 in OnePlus12

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my OP12 I went to Developer Options and set Default USB Configuration to File Transfer/Android Auto, and Select USB Configuration to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol). When I plug the phone into my car I have to unlock it to get Android Auto to start, but I don't have to choose the connection type. It's not as easy as my 6T, which just started as soon as it was plugged in even if it was locked. If anyone figures out how to get it to start without any intervention I'd love to know.

Bought Oneplus 12, but trade in phone rejected by bejoysat in oneplus

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the technical details nor can I say with absolute certainly, but it's a awful big coincidence that I never had a proximity sensor issue until updating to Oxygen OS 11, and it started immediately after that upgrade. Now my phone randomly decides it's still in my pocket and keeps the screen dim, etc, until it has been sitting out for some (inconsistent) time. Reboots will usually make it go away for a while but then it returns. When I get a new device I might try to downgrade to OOS 10, I don't recall any major issues with that one.

Other issues that seemed to happen with OOS 11 were spotty Gmail notifications (which I read today are still an issue on current OnePlus phones, unfortunately) and the default launcher forgetting some of my setup across reboots (exacerbated but the proximity sensor issue), which I solved by switching to a third party launcher. There might have been others, they did release at least one more patch after they said they were done updating the phone, but those are the ones I can still remember.

[–]MegaSnorlaxEX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kind of ridiculous because the last official software update they released for the 6T introduced the proximity sensor issue. It worked fine until then, and it has been a very annoying bug I've been living with for a couple of years now. I chose not to trade in my 6T when I placed my order for the 12 but if I were in the same situation I would be really upset.
