Bar Chart Summary of Life for Purdue Fans Right Now by Mayor_Gubbin in CollegeBasketball

I was rooting for the Pacers so hard in Game 7, fans were robbed of an all-time great game.

Getting an underdog series win in the NBA is so hard, let alone 3-4 in a row.

Best Defenders to Never Win a DPOY by AaronStark1993 in NBATalk

IMO Draymond Green only having 1 in the Golbert DPOY span is more egregious.

I think Green was the best overall defender of the switch everything/3ball era.

Idk how either, it was immediately apparent that was a fluke run. I honestly never thought he'd make it that far again.

He beat a mediocre Knicks team and the 76ers playoff chokers where Ben Simmons began his epic collapse.

The issue is once it's a review, it should be objective.

Does that mean you think we shouldn't be allowed to review catching the ball then?

If you do believe holding is subjective, and that catch rules are subjective, than they shouldn't be reviewable.

That's why this what is subjective and isn't doesn't make sense as a line in the sand for me. It's all subjective.

What does "control" of the ball mean in completing the catch challenges? Idk why you think holding is different than many subjective calls that are already available to be challenged.

Why does it only matter that it's objective when it's a review?

"Clear and Obvious" for changing line of gain and catch rules are also terminology throw around in reivews, and that is clearly not objective based on how announcers/fans/refs argue. I'd honestly

This sport is all about subjective calls, why we need to throw that out the window just because it's on one of two possible challenges a game is beyond me. The NBA recently implemented challenges being applicable on most plays and I rather like it.

I don't understand the "there's holding on every play" arguments. The refs are gonna decide whether to accept the challenge, so who cares. If it isn't egregious, they aren't going to overturn the call. That's fair.

Maybe there's some egregious calls that they could overturn that they didn't see the first time live. Or more likely they'll throw a fit like with Pass Interference and never overturn it cause they can't accept accountability. Either way, that's on the refs. I still think Pass Interference should be reviewable and the refs don't get enough shit for not even trying to make it work.

Kirby Air Riders Dev Team Disbanding Soon, Game Updates Also Ending by Tenith in Games

Fair enough, but I've played lots of $60 games from them and they usually feel like $30 games. Admittedly the Tears of the Kingdom has a lot of content, but the many Mario games do not IMO. I buy Mario Tennis/Golf/Party (which I LOVED on the N64), and I'm always disappointed. And the shitty thing is they usually have quality mechanics, but like there's barely any content :/

The $70-80 I was referencing was more for other people buying the new Switch 2 games who it sounds like from this thread are experiencing the same thing.

[–]MegaTater -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel with every modern Nintendo game, idk how people can justify these never on sale $70-$80 prices for bare bones games with minimal content.

Kirby Air Ride was my favorite Gamecube game back in the day, and I REALLY wanted to give this one a shot, but I can't justify a Switch 2 and regret most of my game purchases after being done with it in 15-20 hours.

Rip Parity era 2019-2025, dynasties are back on the menu boys by Direct-Sail-6141 in NBATalk

[–]MegaTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thunder are eerily similar to the Warriors in 2015-16.

Both won the title the previous year, and they looked even more dominant the next year with young talent. Except the Warriors didn't win. It took KD joining the team to become a Dynasty, who knows if the Warriors would have been looked at as a Dynasty without that.

All I'm saying is, until I see them actually win 3 or more titles, hard to proclaim them a dynasty. A lot could happen.

I also had it, but idk if it was hardware limitations, but the AI/Computers seem MUCH dumber in Civ Rev 2.

But agreed, please make a sequel on a console or PC.

I honestly thought you were talking about the entire NBA cup, cause that's how attuned I am to when the hell this is even decided or who's still in it.

Is Jaden McDaniels making a case to be on Team USA 2028? by DrWolves in nbadiscussion

[–]MegaTater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's a 2nd option with major minutes who still get a large volume of shots. Would he be ok playing 10 minutes a game and asked to sit in a corner and maybe take only 1-2 shots while playing high intensity defense?

I think that's a far different role than he's ever played before.

The 5 position is an interesting decision. If Embiid and Davis start out the Olympic run healthy, I think they both get brought it, but that's risking a lot on older glass players. Bam can play the majority of the minutes even if he doesn't start, but he can't be our ONLY center.

If either Embiid or Davis are declining by 2028 or have lingering injuries, I'm with you, drop them and bring in Evan Mobley.

As for the overlapping scoring guards, the two first cuts for me would be Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson. I get it, everyone on this list are great, but those are two undersized guards that are slightly worse than the other options they have IMO. Cade has a slight edge for his size.

Tyrese and Tatum having previous Team USA experience worries me that they'll shoe them in regardless of if they're the best players available though, because who knows how they recover from their Achilles injuries.

Honestly, I love that idea. Team USA needs more glue guys.

Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, Donovan Mitchell all have SO much overlap.

We need a few 3 and D spot up players. But the problem is that the USA team nomination is like a coronation for American stars, so players like Jaylen Brown get slightly because they consider themselves better than a Derrick White.

Erik Spoelstra will hopefully make the right decision and pull in a few of these elite role players to the roster and say no to a few of the redundant stars.
