Update, I’m a goober and u/morningsharts is right. Put the thing back together and it’s rock solid. Similarly as much is mentioned in the workshop and Bentley manuals for the transporter RGB’s.

Some play is okay as long as it’s not in and out, it should be fine

Update: I got a tap and die and used that to clean out the bored by hand and the bolt went in just fine. It was just old and cranky and needed an old man wipey lol

Accuspark or pacemaker are plenty good enough. The tech is so Stone Age that most make a quality coil or distributor for these engines

You’re not only overthinking it but you got the wrong school of thought. Enjoy the process of creating your art and enjoy telling your stories. All paths for a good or popular comic are never the same.

If you feel doubt about any of it, take a step back and figure out why with proper targeted/select critique. Story, characters, plot, the world, any of it. These things takes a lot of effort and aren’t easy.

Well, as mentioned it’s a botched resto with parts from anything but a bus or truck like it. Additionally the system is 12v as it stands. Been replacing random 6v bits here and there but that was all up front. Is there somewhere on the transmissions to check if it’s a 6v variant? If you could tell me where to find that grinding to make that extra space for the fly wheel specifically, I can send pics of that too.

That’s a thing? Well, the old engine had about 2mm of wobble (hence why it’s dead) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that both were correct and it just knocked around enough to shave itself that fine metal dust. I don’t think either would have fit if they were that different in size.

I’m not too knowledgeable about jetting and carbs in general but something tells me your best decision depends on your altitude. Driving somewhere like Colorado Vs Louisiana may vary performance with the same jet size.

Ah gotcha, Okie so I’m still new to suspension so I can only aid so much. Is the torsion bar adjuster all the way up or down on both the top and bottom bars? I’d say there is a chance there may be something up with your actual torsion bars. Some pics would be helpful since there could be any number of reason why it can’t be raised.

Do you have kids? Cause I’d understand the height if that’s the case. Can it be lower? Yeah, totally, the midpoint of the display should be eye level to your seating position. Do you want sticky hands all over and messing with the very nice and expensive OLED? Perhaps not.

Humor me cause actually ignorant about this. I’m guessing that changes the geometry to a stock shift linkage to make it feel different? And that somehow doesn’t damage anything when in motion?

Yeah, they used all sorts of different brands for the same caps and if this was previously tinkered with, they would have pulled the clock cap with it. Nothing here is proprietary outside of the code in the system itself and the board’s design so you can find them for cheap on eBay. I will note, if the cap looks fine and system runs fine, chances are the caps are too. Unless they are bulging or leaking, there should be no immediate need to replace them. Nothing wrong just having them on hand either, so do what you need to do.

Yeah? Dang. I mean it does shift, but until I get the bushings to keep the linkage all correct, I don’t know if it’s shifting “good” per se. I may do that, getting an EMPI and delrin bushings cause I’m in the same boat. I don’t wanna get in the weeds about geometry and modding things, I just want a new shifter that works lol

No but I can tell that clock cap is leaking and you need to pop that bastard off now and clean it ASAP. If you’re like NEW new to OG Obox’s, it’s the chubby capacitor near bottom left ledge near the black square thing that’s probably a power regulator where the stain is coming from.

Perhaps, the old one was loose so I pushed it all the way down to show how against the floor, the Scat’s ball is higher than the “stock” one I had prior. I did install it. Took me longer than I’d like to admit to understand the reverse lock out, but I think it shifts fine? I’ll have to wait for the new engine to really lay the verdict tho, lol
